alcohol

Dear all

Im not saying I drank like an alcoholic but i did go over the government guidelines i keep beating myself up wondering if thats caused it

ruth

Ah, Ruth - not worth it! For one, you can’t undo the past, and two there are PLENTY of examples - here and wider - of folk who lived like sainted monks (y’know, exercise and veggies and clean mountain air) and *still* got cancer.

xx

I agree, Ruth. It’s a futile exercise. I haven’t touched a drop since the 1980s. The fact is, once you start looking for the cause, you are heading towards blaming yourself for what in effect is just a cruel twist of fate or nature. Some get it, others don’t. There may be contributing factors statistically but there is absolutely nothing you can do - you have breast cancer.

The fact is, we have (or had) breast cancer and we all find our own ways of dealing with it. Looking ahead to finding ways to get through treatment is the only constructive way to look at this. Don’t look back - nothing will be the same now, I’m afraid. You will always look with that slightly different perspective. And NEVER blame yourself please. Xx
