Hello Viv
I found that aloe vera had a lovely cooling soothing effect especially if I kept it in the fridge. However I don’t think it’s that good for moisturizing - for that I don’t think you can beat aqueous cream. I was given aqueous cream at the hospital when I had rads and also found an enormous pot of it at the chemist for £2.99.
Take care
Love Anthi
Thanks for that I thought it might be good to take the redness out of my skin

Hi Viv
Aloe Vera now do a lotion which moisturises, it can be found in Holland Barrett. It has a soothing effect too, as Anthi says, if you keep it in the fridge. The gel is great for soreness, also keep in the fridge and it’s heaven when you apply to the sore bits

I tried some Aloe Vera earlier and I don’t know if I want it to work but it certaimly has soothed it a bit
I used it through my rads, used it a few hours before rads and then straight after, it def helped, although i think if you use it before rads then they say to use the 99.9% stuff, i got my from holland and barrett.
hope it helps you

I bought a large tube of 99.9% Aloe Vera gel from Holland & Barrett today for 2.42, it had been reduced from 4.99 so I was delighted. I don’t know how long the offer is on for, but I thought I’d let you all know there’s a bargain to be had!!
I’ve finished 25 rads now, my shoulder and neck area are a bit sore and blistered but other than that have had no problems.
Good luck to you all,

Hello Ladies
I used Aloe Vera Lotion throughout my rads with excellent results. Try to get the Aloe Pura brand at Holland & Barrett. Holland & Barretts own brand has 4 different parabens in, which isnt good for us slapping on our chests.
Take care all

hi tracy
i start rads next tuesday and was advised to use aqueos cream before and during rads.its really cheap from the chemist less than 3 quid. i have also been using it on my scars on back, breast and underarm and they have healed really well. they dont feel that tight way u can sometimes get with scars. iv got a big pot already in the fridge for tuesday so its nicely chilled. u would think i was talking about some lovely champers and not a pot of cream for our boobs.
best wishes to all
