Hi Fairyqueen, cyber hugs and all kinds of hugs to you, |am sorry to read about that, I am tn too and my heart goes out to you xxxxxx please keep posting, someone will have some words for you to help you but I am thinking of you - x
Oh Fairyqueen what a time you have been having - not surprised that you are feeling worried about every sympton just now, it is just awful to be waiting for tests and results again. Sending you a super big hug, Sue x
Really sorry to read ur news fairyqueen I remember responding to your post a few weeks back where you asked about skin mets. I’m so sorry recurrence has been confirmed. Can I ask if you are triple negative? Have they diagnosed skin mets? Just to reassure u (if that’s possible), I had a really bad case of skin mets which spread like wildfire but my scans were clear. So it diesnt mean u have organ spread although u will be fretting I’m sure.
Feel free to pm me any time for any info/ advice etc.
Hugs

hi tina yes am triple neg they said its locl recurrence is that same as skin mets i thought it was x
Fairy Queen, So sorry to hear your news - big hugs to you.

Gutted for you too.
Local recurrence means the cancer recurring in the same place as it was originally, skin mets mean metastases (secondaries) in the skin.
From what I’ve learnt they treat local recurrence as a new primary rather than as a secondary. Because it didn’t respond to the chemo you’ve had they might want to try a different regime, but that’s obviously something you’ll have to discuss with your onc.
Good luck.

Sorry to hear your news, thinking of you, big hug. Dx
Really sorry that your news wasn’t good. Hopefully they will switch you to another regime which works for you. They have lots in their armoury xx
Hi fairyqueen
I am posting a link to the BCC information page about recurrence which explains the different types:
Please do call our helpline for further support on 0808 800 6000, the lines are open 9-5 weekdays and 9-2 Sat.
Take care
Lucy
CM - although skin mets by the mx scar are in theory metastatic, they are still classed as local recurrence if they are in the same place as the primary (same as when another lump appears following a wle). My skin mets were officially classed as a local recuurence as the cancer had recurred locally as opposed to being diagnosed with regional recurrence (eg. Nodes at clavicle on same side) or distant mets (eg lungs, bones etc). As far as I’m aware tho, skin mets are staged the same as other mets- stage IV. Not sure if that’s just when the chest wall is affected, as mine was?? It’s all very complicated isn’t it. And here was me thinking a local recurrence wasn’t possible as I’d opted for a mx instead of a wle!!

i know you think a mx would relly help see it off it is so unpredictable i am glad you re doing well on this chemo and really hope it sees it off x
thankyou all for your replies take care x
What have they offered u treatment wise? I had quite drastic surgery followed by rads but I know some ladies have chemo. Hope they can get ur treatment started asap before the rash gains momentum. Mine was misdiagnosed for several weeks so the rash was quite extensive by the time of my op + it started up after surgery. There are lots of options + lots of chemos so try not to panic. Rads are particularly effective with skin mets.
Hope ur copin ok x
still have rads to go but have to be replanned now but having scans in two wks then have to see if elsewhere so am none the wiser at the moment x
sorry to hear your news fairyqueen… fingers crossed for good results from the scans and hope the next chemo you have blasts it.

Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts for a good outcome from the tests and hopefully the results will be reassuring.
