Hi folks,
I havent been on the site for a while due to work, chemo etc but i had my last epi almost 4 weeks ago and start CMF on Fri all being well. The friday before i was due to start cmf i had a really high temp (38.5) and sore throat. I did as the literature advised and went to A and E where they took bloods. Nothing wrong - neutrophils etc ok. So they gave me penicillin and sent me home the next day. I went back to work (i am a teacher and we have a school inspection!!). Anyway, 5 days later (last Fri) my temp creeps up to 38.2 again so i went back to casualty and again they took bloods and did a whole range of tests. My white blood cell count was 16! Also my SATS were 93 which is low for me and i had a fast pulse. So they gave me 2 more types of intravenous anti biotics and sent me home the next day. I then vomited for a few hours and got the doc to give me an anti sickness injection. Since then, i have been back at work and feeling ok but
Do they ever not give chemo if the blood count is too high?! (the doc reckons it shows my body is fighting an infection somewhere).
Any ideas? I really dont want to delay the CMF any more
Sorry to bombard you with a load of waffle
