Dear All, I am posting this on behalf of our Research and Evaluation Team.
This study has received approval from Breast Cancer Care’s research and evaluation team, and from our Service User Research Partnership members. Collectively it is felt that this study advances the aims and objectives of the charity and the breast cancer population we aim to serve. We hope that this research will assist in highlighting the needs and experiences of younger women, and provide evidence for areas where they can be better supported.
An exploration of the experiences and perspectives of young Black and minority ethnic women living with a history of breast cancer in the UK
You are invited to participate in a study exploring your experiences and perspectives of life after treatment for breast cancer. Participation in this study will involve being interviewed for approximately 60-90 minutes at a location and date of your convenience. The aim is to explore what issues are significant to young Black and minority ethnic women and what it is like to be living after treatment for breast cancer.
You are invited to take part in this study if you:
- Were diagnosed with breast cancer when aged 18 to 45 less than ten years ago
- Are at least one year since diagnosis
- Have completed initial treatment (i.e. surgery/radiotherapy/chemotherapy)
- Were treated in the UK and currently living here
- Are fluent in English
The researcher would especially like to hear from women from black or minority ethnic backgrounds, and lesbian or bisexual women.
