Anastrozole 5/10 Years

Good Morning

I have been reading on the forum about this issue. I am very confused.

I had BC 5 years ago,  Grade 3, stage 1, no node involvement,lumpectomy, radiotherapy, anastrozole. I have been very lucky with hardly any side effects. I was put on it for 5 years which was extended to 10 years.

I am not sure whether I should still stay on it for 10 years, or should I be speaking to someone to come off it.

I would welcome peoples thoughts on this one please.

Hi Angie,

10 years is the new recommendation that came in about the time I was diagnosed 3 years ago. Apparently, 10 years on hormone treatment further reduces the recurrance risk into the long term. 

Maybe an idea to discuss with your GP & obviously, it depends on how you feel about it.
