Anastrozole Best time of day?

Hello there!

I’ve had a mastectomy with reconstruction in December. Now in the treatment stage,(revcovery period!) and on Anastrozole. Just wondered what time of day should I take the tablet? With water? With my evening meal or breakfast? Don’t suppose I will feel any side effects till later since just started. Love to hear from anyone about their experiences.

Hello Hamlet,
I used to take my Anastrozole with my morning cuppa while having breakfast. Some people prefer to take it in the evening. I’m sure you’ll find the right time for you. Good luck!

Hi I take mine in the morning with water and then have my breakfast. I really don’t think it matters when you take it so long as you stick to the same time everyday. I have been very lucky and have had no side effects from it at all.

Wishing you all the best.

I take mine with water after breakfast - don’t think it matters really,as long as its same time every day.
I do have achy joints(knees) could be side effects from Anastrazole
but find walking with dogs helps.

Hello Ladies

Thanks for the replies very useful tips. I’ve only just started the tablets so I think I’ll take them in the morning so I’m least likely to forget later on! My elbow joints in my arms ache especially my right elbow, don’t know if anything to do with having a right breast mastectomy and reconstruction? Taking it easy especially when I have to have my dressings changed Tuesday at my doctors with the snow, hubby cant take me tommorrow but he has been very good taking me to hospitals and other appointments which seem never ending!!

Next step is contacting my employer asking for my original medical certificate back in order to claim Employment support allowance. It’s such a palavar, sometimes I just want things done without to my questions asked. Besides, most people don’t really understand unless they have first hand experience but I suppose I will have to approach them in order to see if I can claim any benefit.

I take my tablet in the evening. It seems to be a bit better than when I was on Arrimidex, although both theese tablets seem to make my joints and bones ache.

I always take my Anastrozole at 9pm. I have an alarm on the phone and it won’t let me forget!! That way you sleep through a lot of the symptoms. I go for a swim every morning, which helps with the aches and pains.
