Been on anaztrozole for 2 years . Recently I have been experiencing tummy pain initially I thought it was a bug but after a couple of weeks I decided to go to GP .He did bloods which all the liver function are extremely high
He then did a enhanced liver function which was high and believe it’s fibrosis.i am a quite fit 70 year old I don’t drink smoke and eat healthy BMI slightly over.i have read anaztrozole causes liver problems .I am desperate to stop them but darent I don’t know what will happen but really scared.What can they put in place of them has I believe they all give liver problems

It’s understandable you’re concerned about your liver function and scared about stopping your anastrozole.
You mention that you have had enhanced liver function tests and that your GP believes you may have fibrosis.
I’m unsure if these results have been discussed with your breast cancer treatment team. They are best placed to assess you, arrange for any further tests if needed and advise on the best treatment going forward. So, if you haven’t been reviewed by them, you can contact your breast care nurse or if you have been discharged from hospital follow up ask your GP to re-refer you.
