one of the ladies who went to court for Herceptin back in 2006 died on Monday. Very sad, but her family can be proud of the fact that she left a lasting legacy for ladies with early stage BC. I for one am truly grateful to her.
Yes, I can remember this lady when she was in the news in 2006 when I was first dx.
It’s so sad she’s lost her fight with bc but by getting herceptin she got extra years to be with her family, wish it could have been longer.
What very sad news. x
Sad to hear this.
Just remembering my cyber friends from BCC 5starshiny (Steph) and slp (Sandra) who also fought for herceptin. They are both now dead. There were many many women like Steph and Sandra who quietly did their stuff for herceptin treatment, for themselves and for many who have come after them.

Really sorry to hear this.
R.I.P. Anne Marie and grateful thanks to all those who are able to fight for others rights to access drugs while dealing with cruel disease.

I am sorry to hear about Anne Marie Rogers.
Yes, there were a great many people. I had forgotten about Steph, but will never forget Sandra. There was Wendy, too, who was willing to stick out her neck but ended up on herceptin for secondaries so quickly. It was a good thing that they did in trying to get the system to move more quickly on trial results, for a drug that has made a difference but is still, unfortunately, not a guaranteed cure.
So sorry to hear about Anne Marie. I met her once and was impresssed by her energy, we were both fighting for our herceptin at the same time.
Rest in peace Anne Marie. x
I was so sorry to read about Anne Marie in today’s paper, and on a personal note, it’s worried me greatly!
My primary bc was ER and PR and HER-2 positive, and (thanks to women like Anne-Marie) I was given Herceptin. I was hoping to get more than 2 years out of it though, and this news has knocked me sideways.
