I cant do the picnic still, as have herceptin on 29th and go on holiday again on 31st July, so gonna have easy day on the wednesday 30th so not too knackered for my early morning flight.
Hope u all have a fab time though. And hope u feeling better soon Dawn and the pain starts to go for you.
just checking in on this - as have been away for a few days - I think I can do either of those days at the moment but I may have to take a quick business trip. Dawn I hope the rads go OK today and tomorow and all on schedule…
Just realised I never posted on this thread (just on the other site) to say that I too can make either day next week, so very happy still to give you a lift Cathy if you would like one.
Hope all is going ok with the rads Dawn and the pain is being controlled well.
It looks like Tuesday next week - July 29th is the best day.
At the moment there are just 4 of us I think. Tell me if I have missed anyone :).

Hornet (frrom bcpals and newly dx with 2ndaries)

The way I feel at the moment is that I very much would like us to stick to some sort of regular pattern and am loathe to change this again. If we are only to be four are the other 3 happy to go along with this?
I thought this might happen- I am going to be in germany on the 29th - coming back that evening. I am at airport right now I posted last week that I wanted to come but might have to go on business, I am sorry both to drop out, and then to miss out as I feel I could really do with a meet up,
I would very much love to be there as I only live about 30mins from you but I have my referral to Marsden on Tuesday to see if these guys can save my life as Brighton have no intention of…and have given up. I will just need all your positive vibes and support girls…I pray they can help me…
!!!
Just a quick note to say I’m sorry I can’t be at the meet on Tuesday. I haven’t posted for a while as going through a tough time - my husband petitioned for divorce last week just 10 weeks after leaving and the day after my latest PET scan. Luckily I had excellent results from that but not feeling up to driving to Surrey at the moment but hope to be able to come another time. I enjoyed the first one very much.
I’m sorry too to hear that things are not going well for you. Really glad that your PET results were good though - think I posted about this on another thread.
Enjoyed meeting you last time and hopefully you will feel able to come to another meet soon.
So sorry you couldn’t join us today, Anne and Cathy (and others). Hornet, Dawn and I had a very relaxing lunch with lots of opportunity to chat about all kinds of things. Hopefully you will be able to make the next meet.
Hi All,
Sorry to hear about your recent troubles Dawn, and that so many others were unable to come for different reasons. I would still love to join you all next time. Is there a date set yet?
I’m just back from absolutely fantastic Odyssey holiday with Annie from the other site. It was brilliant. I can only say to those who haven’t been - what are you waiting for! Get yourself booked on!
I can’t fault it. Everything was just great, and the people were so completely lovely and took such good care of us.
Love to all
Jacquie
Welcome back Jacquie - Odyssey is pretty amazing isn’t it :). When I went June last year there were 6 of us from bcpals in the group and I loved every minute of it.
It was a shame so many couldnt make today’s meet but I hope however small we can aim for one a month. Hornet(from the other site) myself and Kay got together today. We did ourselves proud on food - smoked salmon, prawns, mixed rolls, cheese, ham etc, etc. supplied by Hornet and a super yummy desert from Kay - a brulee raspberry cheesecake :). So… who’s coming next time! I will put a date up for towards the end of August but I recognise with school hols, general hols and a b/h weekend there may not be many around. If not then we will delay it to first week in September. Watch this space.
Hi All,
Thanks for your good wishes. I’m sorry I missed it today and glad that Hornet, Dawn and Kay had a good time. I hope to make one soon when things calm down. Was sorry to hear you’d had further troubles Dawn and hope you’re doing ok.
How was the graduation Kay? I may have missed comments about it on here as been out of it for a bit!
Glad to here you enjoyed Odyssey Jacquie, I went to the West Midlands/Wales one last September and had a fantastic time. In fact I’m off to Brum on Saturday to meet up with several ladies I met there which will be great to look back on our Odyssey memories and photos.
Glad you had a good time - the pud sounds delicious!! I had my 80th Herceptin today so I am feeling rather up-beat and I had my MUGA results too (the first time I have ever been told anything other than ‘that’s fine’) the score was 69% which I was told was good but that the implants had made the reading hard to get so they are sending me for an echo cardiogram to make doubly sure.
Hopefully I will make another picnic before too long.
Hope you are not too tired today after yesterday, Dawn. Know I’m repeating myself, but I did really enjoy the day and feel on a bit of a high today despite having spent the morning at work catching up with paperwork!
The graduation was a really lovely event, Anne. I wore Dawn’s fascinator in the Senate House for the actual ceremony - it went so well with my dress. We then had drinks and a picnic lunch on the college lawn. Only downside was having to pack up my daughter’s room! Mind you, I escaped most of that as I volunteered to stand guard over things at the foot of the stairs as the rest organised a convey system to the car.
So glad you enjoyed Odyssey, Jacquie - will definitely give them a ring and book myself onto one. And welcome back! Hope you enjoy meeting up with the other ladies this weekend, Anne.
And congratulations, Blondie, on reaching your 80th Herceptin! Here’s to the next 80! Hope the echo cardiogram goes ok.
Have to say I’ve been a bit peed off this week as I went for herceptin on monday and everyone kept saying ‘it’s your last one today then?’. Can’t believe I’ve been having it for a year. If I wasn’t a ‘deep-ender’ I’d be finished with treatment now. As it is, I’ll be going to that b… hospital every three weeks until things change, which can only mean things getting worse. Grumble grumble moan. B… place i hate it. Had to go today as well for MUGA scan - that’s twice in 4 days, and I’m supposed to be getting on with life!
Okay, moan over. Just wanted to get it off my chest.
Blondie, can’t work out how long you’ve been on it if that’s your 80th. Def must be worthy of a cream cake though! as an endurance prize.
Love to all
Jacquie xx
