Have got my bloods on that day ready for my Zometa the following day on 24th - typical! Am still on holiday on 17th but I think that’s the beauty of having them regularly that if you miss one, there’s always another one!
If you don’t mind I am going to say can we fix this for the 24th? I now have an MRI scan scheduled for Monday 14th, and my usual 3-weekly day at the Marsden on the 15th, so the 17th isn’t looking so good for me.

24th might be good for me but I won’t know for a couple of weeks as I might have to attend an Employment Tribunal for work . If I don’t have to attend I should be fine.
Dawn - good luck with the MRI, I’ll try and come and see you on the 15th!
Kate - if you are fit to come we can sort out transport arrangements nearer the time.

Thanks Geraldine - after I saw you yesterday i was sent for x-rays then booked the MRI - but am going on hols next week otherwise I would have got a an earlier booking. On 15th will be in MDU as usual then clinic at 3.30.
I am hoping to be on holiday the week of the 24th but if we don’t get organised enough to get away I will, of course, come along - I really enjoyed the last meet.

Hopefully 24th is OK for me as due herceptin/zometa either 3rd or 10th july and a lift will probably be needed but who knows I might be off the MST then if the rads work.
Starting to feel the effects today really badly - throat sore and feels as if someone is sitting on my chest and swallowing painful. They said it would happen about now and they were right - just hope it doesn’t get too bad and need to be tube fed!! Had a bad night with a woman whose pain was out of control and kept falling out of bed but kept refusing analgesia so been awake since 230am so have come to daycare and the internet to escape as it is so awful. They will move her and look after her better I’m quite sure, she just seemed to go downhill overnight which was scary.
I did escape last night and joined in the live chat with talking to children when you have secondaries.

How unfortunate that your nights sleep was disturbed - I guess they just didnt know it was going to happen. Really sorry to hear the side effects from the rads are kicking in and hope it doesnt last too long. If you can make the 24th that will be great.

Really glad to hear you are hoping to make the 24th, Kate. Offer of a lift still stands (unless there is someone coming from closer to you).
Sorry to hear about your disturbed night - this hospice doesn’t sound to be quite the peaceful place I would have expected!

Unfortunately I cannot now make 24th for the picnic as OH has to go Milton Keynes overnight for wot they call a General Managers meeting, and dinner (more like knees up if you ask me), so I have no one to look after Sophie and Jack!!!
Maybe the next one will be better although please remember I am on hols from 31 July til 14 Aug (LOL), so try to avoid those dates, then got herceptin again on 19th Aug - so could be tricky that week (LOL) - need to plan around me you know.
But seriously, if I cant make the one in august I will just have to console myself and try for one after that.

I am really sorry but going to have to change the picnic date at this short notice. As some of you know I have been having problems with ‘pain’ and am now having rads to spine and hip which finish on Thursday!! I would like to move the picnic date to the following week and can do either Tuesday 29th or Wednesday 30th. I hope that those who were not able to do this coming thursday will also be able to join us. So can you all let me know which is the preferred day? It is short notice for a change but I just don’t want to put it off longer.

These picnics/meets we are trying to organise each month. They are just an opportunity to meet regularly and chat at my place which is near Lingfield (surrey) - about 7 miles east of Gatwick. All with secondaries are welcome from this forum and from bcpals forum. We had our first meet up in a pub in Guildford a couple of months ago and I suggested we could meet at my place as it is nicer to be private with more opportunity to chat. If you want to join us you will be welcome.
