Anti-perspirants?

Hi All. Had WLE and SLN biopsy two weeks ago and am awaiting results due next Tuesday. IDC identified from clinic core biopsy as 6mm grade one, ER 7/8+, PR 7/8+, HER-, so I’ll be taking Tamoxifen for the hormone receptor side of things.

I’ve been reading that aluminium from aluminium based anti-perspirants can be absorbed from the arm pit and mimic the effects of estrogen, so it looks like one to avoid for me in future. I’m also reading that parabens (preservative in many personal care products) are also questionable.

Has anyone any advice - any recommendations for alternative anti-perspirants? Or am I best just sticking with deodorants, or in fact, nothing?

Thanks x

Hi Blondie

Since my WLE and then bilateral mastectomy, I’ve been using Dr Organics deodorant from Holland and Barrett. Comes in different perfumes but I like the pomegranate one. Having said that, when I asked my surgeon about deodorant, he just looked at me as if I was daft and said to use whatever I wanted. x

Since surgery I have used Crystal roll on. Costs approx £4 from Boots for 50ml.  It lasts ages. It is Paraben free and only contains aqua, pottassium allum and cellulose.
