Hi,
I have had chemotherapy which ended 5 Dec 2024. I then saw a surgeon to have a lumpectomy and sln removed and checked. During biopsies they found cancer in the lymph nodes. The tumor in my breast is now smaller than the clip they put in at biopsy.
My operation was cancelled very last minute due to an emergency. I am now waiting for a new surgery date.
I am so stressed and getting worried that the cancer is still in my lymph nodes and can therefore travel to other parts of my body.
Could you please put my mind at rest.
Many thanks
Hi espana25
Thanks for posting.
It’s understandable you are feeling stressed and worried while you wait for your surgery. You are not alone in worrying that the cancer could be spreading through your body.
It sounds like you have had a good response to the chemotherapy. It will not only have treated the area in your breast but also the lymph nodes.
If your treatment team felt a delay in your operation would affect the outcome, they would not have agreed to the wait. It understandable to worry though. You could contact your treatment team or your breast care nurse to discuss your concerns. Hopefully they can put your mind fully at ease and provide you with a new date soon.
