Anxious beyond belief

I have an appointment at a local breast clinic tomorrow after I saw my GP on Tuesday. I have had a fullness in my left breast for at least 3 weeks & discomfort when I lie in that side radiating into my armpit. It’s definitly bigger than it used to be. No skin changes that I can see, or redness, heat etc. Really worried. I’m 47.

Hi @claire241 I can really understand why you’re anxious as will most of the people on this forum! It might be nothing but honestly well done for getting this far as I do think you need to be aware of all changes, not just lumps.
Hopefully you’ll find out why this is happening. Even if it did turn out to be cancer, it sounds like you’ve found it early so treatment is simpler.
Let us know how you get on! Thinking of you :two_hearts:

Even if it is cancer, you will have an excellent team looking after you. There are loads of different and highly effective treatments available these days. Lets us know how you get on. Take care x

Dear Claire 241

Welcome to our wonderful forum, the club you didn’t want to join, however you will get some excellent advice.

Take one day at a time at the moment, also have a notebook nearby to write down any questions you may have for your breast cancer team, if possible take a family member or friend with you to your appointment.

Will be thinking of you, please come back and let us know how your getting on.

With the biggest hugs Tili :rainbow::pray::rainbow::pray:

Good Morning

I was diagnose with breast Cancer 3 weeks. Doctor did biobsy and results came back cancerous( Breast lumph size 3.3cm -2.5cm and several lymph nodes , Biggest measured 5.5 mm)
My doctor send me home and with NO further instructions, info , follow-up appointment dates or anything.
It’s been 3 week now since and still my doctor has not manage to contact me, when i phone for any further bookings , tests or ANY appointments regarding my diagnoses im told to wait, that she has my file and will be in contact with me when she is ready.

Please advise , im scared and dont know right for wrong in this matter regarding cancer , the nessecery steps that should be taken, is this a long and painfull waiting experiance. what is the most important questions i should be asking…

Im soooooo stressed , i can vomit to be quite frank.
My husband and myself are not sleeping at night.

Please Help

Hi ciano_q
Hope you are okay. I would find it unusual not yet to be given dates for follow ups and further tests. When I was diagnosed on the Tuesday, I was immediately given an appointment for 2 weeks later. We understand they are busy and we dont like to pester them, but I would at least phone and ask if they can give an approximate time frame. Hope you get it sorted.

@poorlyboob Thank you, I really hope i get some answers tomorrow. The wait is killing me

Hello @ciano_q

So sorry to hear of your diagnosis and that you are still waiting . It’s pretty horrible waiting for a treatment plan and date when you already know it’s cancer . Considering what they have found this sounds like a long wait to me - I’m just wondering are you in the UK ? If you are then I would advise contacting your Breast Care Nurse . You could also call the helpline on 0808 800 6000 and see if the Nurses can advise you if you talk it through with them.

Wherever you are you could post in the Ask The Nurses section .

I don’t know how things work if you are in a different country but rather than calling I would go to your Doctors office and explain your situation face to face with whoever is on reception and say that you are concerned that some clerical or administrative error might have occurred as you should at least have a progress update to say if you have been referred for surgery or to Oncology and that as well as the upset it’s impossible for you to plan ahead with your life until there is a treatment plan in place.

Sending love xx
