Hi snurse41
Thank you for posting
Waiting for biopsy results can be a stressful time and people often find this really difficult.
Once the biopsy tissue has been looked at in the laboratory the result then needs to be discussed by a team of health care professionals. This happens for all biopsies regardless of the result. This multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meets on a specific day each week, which is why the time to results can vary from hospital to hospital.
Breast changes such as puckering or nipple changes can happen for many reasons and a diagnosis is not always clear from breast examination and imaging such as mammograms and ultrasound, this is why a biopsy was taken.
It is very tempting to google symptoms as you’ve said, however the information is often quite general rather than specific to your particular situation. It can also be very worrying if you symptoms seem to fit a particular diagnosis you have read about when you have not had the biopsy result. Some people find it more helpful to look at ways of managing the stress of waiting for results. Its not clear what support you have at this difficult time of waiting for results but the NHS website, every mind matters has some useful tips on managing anxiety that you may find helpful
