Any advice would be helpful, I have BRACA 1 gene x

hi, I’m new here. I was diagnosed with the BRACA 1 gene a year ago. Is there anyone else in the same position? I’m thinking about having surgery but I want to have a think about it before deciding. Can anyone give me anything I might need to consider that I might not have thought about? Or advice about telling partners etc? I’m not currently with anyone but would like to know what people have done who are in relationships and their views on this to help me have a think about when the right time is to tell a new partner about my situation?
Thanks,
Danielle x

Hello Danielle,

I’m really sorry you’ve not had a reply to your message, and I have no personal experience of your situation, but I’m hoping that by bumping your thread up that someone might see it. If that doesn’t bear fruit for you then can I suggest that you give the helpline number a call and I’m sure there will be some additional advice for you and they can talk through some ideas…
