Has anyone any experience of a breast hamartoma? My daughter has just been diagnosed with this and the Consultant is recommending it is removed as it is quite large. At first he thought it was a fibroadenoma, but after ultra sound + tests he says it is a hamartoma. As she is only 18, she is quite reluctant (and as I have had a mx, chemo + RADS + other problems I don’t think this is helping her make her decision). The Consultant said that hopefully her remaining breast tissue would fill in the hole - has anyone had this happen, or will she be left with a dent? Any information will be gratefully received.

i have no experience of this at all, sorry, i am just bumping up the thread.
I can tell you that my tumour was 17mm and then margins round it were taken, and my breast looks great after it, no gap. Has she looked at some photos of the surgeon’s previous work? That may help her decide.
