Hi
I am 9 weeks post op from a lumpectomy and reduction of both breasts. I seem to be spending a fortune on trying to get the right bra that doesn’t irritate or hurt my wounds/ scar ( which have healed up)
I need a wireless, fully supported, bra with straps that doesn’t hurt my scar. I’ve tried a seamless with a mould and a lip that is meant to sit flat at the top of your belly, all that did was roll up from my belly onto my wound. I have radiotherapy soon and need to be comfortable, this for some reason is adding to my emotional distress that’s already not good
Any recommendations would be extremely helpful and appreciated
Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I found the invisible crop tops from Primark to be great. Not the ribbed ones, these are made out of an almost silky type material and were £8 each. They have no seams or edges and lay completely flat against your skin. They have removable cup inserts that feel surprisingly supportive. There’s different style briefs that go with them, some are quite pretty. I still sometimes wear them 18 months later as they give a nice smooth shape in tighter clothing. x
Hi I really feel for you I must have about 20 different ones , I agree some roll up
and dig in I had a T junction sutures under the bust I even put a sanitary towel under to stop the rubbing , had to wear bra 24/7
For 2 weeks I used a cotton cropped top took the padding out as @southwest123
Suggested there’s defiantly a gap in the market for reasonable priced post op
Bras that work . Take care and good luck with your treatment xxx
I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, and appreciate your understanding thank you
hope you are ok too x
I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question, we don’t need any of this when going through breast cancer treatment it sounds minimal in the grand scheme of things I guess but it would make things so much easier . I will have a look at this thank you very much ![]()

Have you tried the post - surgery range from M+S ? None have wires or seams - different styles but very soft comfy and supportive. I’m still wearing them now 3 years later - if you order online then VAT is deducted automatically as it’s classed as a surgical appliance . Their Flexifit crop tops are good too - silky seamless material with pockets and removable pads though they aren’t classed specifically for post- surgery so there’s no VAT deduction.
I also have 2 Anita bras which are available at eloise.com plus stockists throughout the country . Have you asked your BCN for advice ? Some people seem to be able to get bras via their BCN - I didn’t but one of my Anita ones came free from the fitter at a support group that our Nurses organized . They may keep samples donated by reps that want them to recommend their products.Xx
Hi that’s so nice of you thank you, I have the front fastening post op from m&S and although it has served me well it feels too restrictive now, but I will definitely look at the other options thank you so much for your help ![]()

I like the M&S Flexfit bras- really comfortable.
My tumour had been at the bottom of my right breast directly below nipple. I had 19 radiotherapy sessions, 15 plus 4 extra to tumour site and so found any bra uncomfortable and irritating round my rib cage for a while. It was a bit burnt but didn’t blister. For a few weeks I wore plain cotton stretchy vest tops from primark size XXS when I would probably have found Small very fitting and Medium ok, but I wanted them tight for a little bit of support. They were good in that they were pretty much 100% cotton with a tiny proportion of Lycra so I didn’t get sweaty and the tumour site area and didn’t get damaged by having the band of a bra round it.
xx
Hi
I have bought the flexi fit bras from M&S and they have been so much better for me, they support and lift me really well and have no seams that rub against my wounds
Thank you again
Much appreciated x
