Hi everyone
My mum is on her 10th day post Docetaxel/Phesgo treatment. It was her first treatment and she got 3 more to go.
My mum has been taking anti sickness dopamine I believe it’s called. It gets better but not completely.
Is diarrhoea, nausea feeling and vomiting common side effects with this type of treatment. Also she has bitter taste when she eats or drinks.
With EC, no issue at all just tiredness but this one is really hitting her
Any tips what foods or drink to avoid, and what helped you to relief nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms?
How long did your symptoms lasts?
On Monday I am going to hospital to drop her stool sample as they have requested it.
Thank you
Hello, Ginger is supposed to help with nausea. Tea and biscuits.
I founf pineapple chuncks, and Lucozade to be effective as well.
Wishing your mum well with the rest of her treatment. x

Thank you very much, I’ll try that for mum
Hi,
I haven’t had Docetaxel/Phesgo, but I suffered a lot from nausea with EC and diarrhoea with capecitabine.
For the nausea, talk to her team as there are different anti-sickness meds out there and I found some worked for me and some didn’t. Ironically, some gave me diarrhoea as they work by pushing the food through your stomach quickly. Ondansetron is an anti-sickness with side effect of constipation, so worth a try if they’ll prescribe it as it may help with the diarrhoea too. Ask her to take the anti-sickness even if she doesn’t feel sick, as prevention is easier than cure. I felt worst on my first cycle and got used to a routine of eating little and often after that, which helped. Fresh ginger grated into boiling water with a bit of sugar to sweeten also helped me.
For the diarrhoea, porridge, bananas, but mainly taking loperamide. It’s important to follow up on the stool sample results to rule out any infections such as c-diff.
Good luck to you both and fingers crossed you find something to help.

Thank you
nausea and vomiting wise has stopped. Diarrhea is not completely stopped but episodes became less. Yesterday handed in her stool sample at the same day emergency care unit in hospital. They told me they will call me, still waiting. Hopefully by today. I gave her some veg broth which improved her energy wise since she lost a lot of fluid, she is eating bit by bit and sofar no signs of vomiting or nausea feeling. Thank you, I thought mum needs to take anti sickness if she only feels sick. Ever since taking everyday, I see improvements
