Hi ladies
just a quick Q…
Just finished my 1st cycle of xeloda on weds + so am on my week off. Side effects so far have been minimal thankfully but in the last week I’ve noticed my teeth are super sensitive. Even cold drinks and the milk on my cereal are causing me probs. It’s all my teeth so I know it’s not just a dodgy tooth that needs a filling (although I haven’t been the dentist in around 12m). I’ve never had sensitive teeth before so am assuming it’s the chemo but I’m on a cocktail of meds so it’s poss it could be something else. Just thought I’d check with you ladies
Have bought some sensodyne Rapid relief paste- hopefully that will help.
Thanks for any advice

HI
just to say i have not got secondaries ( thank god) but have had chemo, RT , and lots of other kinds of meds, and from week one my teeth have been sensitive, have tried all kinds of toothpast ect they seem to work then go sensitive again. Finished chemo in oct last year, think i have fillings from the early 80s, so put it down to that, some days are better than others, its a real pain in the bum. iam not very helpful, tho was thinking of having my fillings changed, thinking about it, it seems to affect my molers more than other teeth.have not been on your meds but it seems to be SE what ever chemo you might be on , may be? not painful but annoying
All the best to you xxxxxx
Hello Tina,
I recently did 3 cycles of Xeloda and in that time, my teeth got really badly stained although they didn’t feel sensitive to hot / cold… I wonder if that’s related. Don’t remember reading about anyone else with dental issues, though.
Glad to hear you’re not suffering with SEs so far and hope that continues for you and that the X gives you great results. Take care, Angelfalls xx
I did 2 cycles of Cape and had horrendous side effects, am currently having a month off the let things settle.
Have not had the teeth problems, as in sensitivity, but I have an awful problem with food sticking to my teeth, and I am forever cleaning them.
My mouth is also super sensitive and I cannot tolerate even baby mint toothpast,as it burns, so have to use a todler fruit flavoured tothpaste.
I go to the dentist every 6 months for a check up to be on the safe side.
Love Jane xxxx
