Anyone due to start chemo in April? - Awesom April Angels

Evening Angels,
Just wanted to say congratulations to Spudgirl on the MRI, so lovely to hear good news

Pauline, good luck for tomorrow hope bloods are ok
Spudgirl, it does seem to be the consensus that insurance companies will use BC as any excuse not to pay out, thanks for the info. Hope your bloods are ok Monday
Hope s/e are minimal tonight and good luck to any on the train tomorrow
Sleep well Angels xxx

Linda - Thank you so much for your post. Feel so much better after reading it. I have been investigating but there is some frightening info out there. I have got the sheets now for all the regimes but they all deal with the drugs individually and not Docetaxol and Herceptin together. My oncologist is so lovely but is from Italy and sometimes hard to understand so I do worry if Ive missed something crucial.
Well done on the MRI Spudgirl. Thank you for your advice on the Insurance. I think they would pin anything on the BC for not paying out. I too would pay extra just for peace of mind.
Hope all is well Pauline and bloods are ok. Hope you have a lovely Fathers day with your family too. (Same for all).
Angie - I was told the consent form is for Docetaxol and Herceptin. As Linda says I do remember having to sign for the Fec T. I start Docetaxol/Herceptin on my next cycle.
Suns out here in Lincs so going to see my lovely horses with no scarf on to see if she they still reconise me.
Lv & Hugs. Sandy. x

Where are all the Angels today?

Pauline hope all went well
I started getting a tingly feeling in legs late last night so took some paracetamol and slept til about 5.30. now moving through my body, feet, legs, fingers and pelvis, weird feeling slightly achy but fine. Been quite tired as well so had a lazy day.
take care girls xxxx

Fec-t cycle 4 day 2
Took my steroids too late, 6pm so didn’t sleep much last night, but made up for it sleeping on the sofa today. No side affects to report so far. Good news Spudgirl - so pleased for you. Amber sorry to hear about your tingling and pain, let us know how you get on. I’ve got cording in my arm - caused by first chemo through back of hand before I got my wonderful PICC line. Some days really hurts. Told to gently massage in ibuprofen gel. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Hope to be well for party on 29th. Take care and get ready to tick off round 4!
Diggy Wiggy - hugs

Fec-T cycle 4 Tax day 5

Had a good nights sleep last night, woke to slight niggly aches in legs but fine after taking paracetamol.
The sunshine has gone, dull here today, rain on the way, never mind I’ve got a stack of DVDS to watch along with Big Brother how sad!
Hope s/e are not hitting too hard, sending big hugs to everyone xxxxx

Omg
How could I have forgotten to mention, Robbie Williams tickets arrived this morning!!! X

Fec T, cycle 4 - Tax 1 day 2

YAAYYY!!! - all went ahead yeaterday, eventually - another long day waiting about on bloods etc but thakfully they came up to acceptable levels -thanks for all the positive wibes Angles xx Took lsast 4 steroids thurs/ Friday at around 2.30 and popped a sleeping tab both nights ang got around 6 hours sleep so pretty happy with that  Got my neulasta jab to take later this aft and started on the paracetamol / Ibuprofen today to build up resistence to the bone pain when it kicks in. Also took usual stuff for thrush and new tabs for reflux - think that’s all!!!

Amber - I’ve been getting weird shivers / pins n needles sensations since a few days back (think I mentioned in previous post) I can’t put it down to ‘T’ as hadn’t started yet but it have been very mild and only a couple times a day, it may be the menopaus for me! Hope your symtoms don’t get too bad and great news about Robbie tix

Kate - enjoy the Boss - hope the rain stays off for you!
Lori - glad you have picked up a bit and got out and about, hope your still doing well

Diggy - happy belated birthday wishes - sue you’ll get to party

Sandy/ Angie - I had to sign a consent form last week beofer starting Docetaxol, did same before starting FEC - think it is just standard protocol. Hope to see my dad tomorrow for a bit although will have to see how S/E’a are as been told can take a bit of a nosedive tomorrow coming down from staeroids. Anyway dad got some great news, tumpur has shrunk and they are very happy with him so looks like rads have dome him well. He is still in pain and not eating much but weight loss seems to have levelled off and the they say the pain should start to ease soon. We are very happy

Spudgirl - great news on the scan - a bit of good news for a change! Hope you get your chemo on Monday

Lynn - lovely PIC, hope you are feeling a bit better now and glad you got out to lunch. Doc sounds like a right D**K! I’m luckly as been ‘working from home’ in the loosest possible sence since start so not needed a line yet. Reading other threads about employers and the awful situations some BC sufferers need to go through - it’s blooday ridiculous - I feel so lucky as my employers are great - ‘just work at your own pace and do as little or as much as you want’ - fantastic!

Skin - I had a realy bad break out after 1st FEC around my mounth / chin area - started using clearasil daily wash and daily cream stuff straight away (think a couple of you ladies mentioned it on here) and haven’t had a problem since. Still using the cream on the problem area once at night as a precaution.

Films - for those boring days in - The Impossible, Argo, Django - all brill!!!

Have a great weekend everyone and hope SEs are minimal

Love Pauline xx

took a phone call just before hitting ‘POST’ and forgot to check spelling and grammar - sorry Angels!

Hi Angels
started with a summer cold Wednesday so spent Wednesday and Thursday in bed sleeping. Had an appointment with oncologist yesterday, he has prescribed movicol for the cronic constipation and gelclair, a gel mouthwash for the mouth ulcers, this really sooths my mouth without numbing it like the difflam mouthwash does. My next meeting will be just before my last cycle and will be to discuss my radiotherapy and hormone treatment.
Moira - our nearest looking good session is at St James in Leeds, my BCN is booking me a place.
Kate - have a great night with the boss
Pauline - glad everything went well yesterday
Amber - very jealous of the Robbie tickets
Spudgirl - great news about the scan
hope everyone has a great weekend, with lots of zzzz’s and minimal side effects

Kim x

Hi Angels,
Bit of a dip today - low energy and aching, but also pouring with rain so feet up and a couple of films on. Pauline - will try some of your film suggestions next. Have been experiencing waves of coldness - mostly on my head (even when I have a hat on) but also can feel a cold wave at times in my arm/back/neck/face - anyone else have anything like this?
However, seems either the chemo or the gcsf injections have got rid of a verruca I have had for several years - bonus!
Forgive my ignorance, lots of you seem to be on/discussing Docetaxol - wondering what this is for, as is not part of my regime.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Carol x

FEC T , Cycle 4 - Tax, day 3

Morning ladies, got about 5 hours sleep last night but that’s the end of the steroids so hopefully back to normal tonight! Slight aches around the top of legs, hips and back of neck. Just coming and going and wouldn’t describe it as pain so the pre load of paracetamol and Ibuprofen must be working so far. Mouth starting to go so looking forward to eating everything in sight over next few days just to taste something - shot putt team, here I come!

Kim - hope your feeling a bit better and meds start to move things along for you!!

Carol - hope the aches have relented a bit. I am getting the hot / cold thing but putting it down to early menopause as s/e of chemo. Docetaxol is the ‘T’ part of FEC-T (sometimes also known as FEC-D) - think a few of us are on this regime. Usual is to get 3 FEC and 3 T, so a few of us have just started or about to start the ‘T’ part
Hopefull for a bit of sun this aft to top up the tan 8)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend Angel’s
Pauline xx

Morning Angels just catching up with all your posts. It keeps me going love all your humour in midst if all the sh…t!
Great news Pauline they went ahead with your Chemo On Friday.
Carol and Kim so sorry to hear your not too good hope your feeling better today.
i was out for dinner at friends last night and it was good. I am thinking of converting my garage to make a bigger kitchen and downstairs toilet, so I might have a project on my hands over the next few months. Something to keep my mind occupied.
Going to my mother in laws for dinner she likes to feed you so will need to start the diet tomorrow.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Forgot to ask you all. Does anyone know the name of the serum they recommend to help your eyebrows and eyelashes grow. One of the other girls says you can get it in princess square in Glasgow but does not know what shop? I have googled it and there seems to be loads on the market, but they are all expensive would hate to pay out for something that did not work! LynxLynx

Good Afternoon Angels
Paclitaxol cycle 1 day 5
Wow what a show! I got to see ‘The Boss’ and he was just as good as I expected, he’s such a showman and did 3 1/4 hours non stop - pretty impressive for a 63 year old! I was tired but okay by the time we got home at mid-night but happy. Today my feet have a numb/pins and needles feeling but I’m not sure if that’s due to the chemo or being out and about all day yesterday and dancing into the night!
Carol - docetaxol is just another chemo cocktail, there seem to be many varities and different ONC’s seem to chose different combinations, I have had 4 AC and now am on 4 Paclitaxols - which is different to docetaxol! Paclitaxol tends to be used for secondaries in many cases but I don’t have any secondaries but had some ‘rogue cells’ which seems to be why I’m on this combination…although might just be they had a special offer on when the ONC was chosing the cocktails!
Hope all of you are having a good day, I’m on a rest day - think I need it and as its raining I won’t be going far!If anyone has got any sun can you send some here for this week please!

Pauline xx

Afternoon Angels, gettread psyched up ready for FEC 4 tomorrow, and 1/3 of the way through. The light at the end of the tunnel is now very bright and getting bigger every day.
so glad you enjoyed the Boss Kate! Only ever heard good things about his gigs.
i have had a great past week, felt better than have done throughout chemo, and the injections have worked really well and currently have quite a high neutrophil count, not sure if this is what has made me feel so well, but it’s certainly worked.
onwards and upwards Angels, hoping for minimal s/e for all this week. Philomena x

Fec-t cycle 3 Day 17
hello ladies, I’ve hardly had any s/e this cycle but yesterday, I was wiped out, we walked the dog as normal but b the time we got back in the car I was shattered. Ended up soaking in the bath then putting my feet up for the day. today I have made a pasta, sausage and 9 different vegetables, Im determined to get my white blood cell count up as I’m sure that’s what it was yesterday.
Kate glad you enjoyed the concert yesterday.
kim, hope your feeling better today.
philomena, good luck for tomorrow, hope it all goes ok.
Pauline, hope your sleeping returns to normal tonight.
