Hi folks,
Like you Debra, I have had to stay in bed today. Terrible stomach ache (runs) etc etc…
I am just continuing to tell myself that hopefully this is the last time I am gonna feel this bad and hope it passes quickly. The aches are not as bad as they have been previously so hopefully I might be off the hook there but mouth is awful again…thank goodness for green tea with jasmine as even water is awful. My happy dance seems a distant memory on Wednesday but sure there are good feelings ahead so will try not to dwell! Thanks to everyone for all your support and encouragement it has without doubt helped on this journey.
Sorry not to reply to all individually but I haven’t got the best head at the moment but I am reading your posts and thinking of you all and wishing you well.
Much love Lori xx
Last Feckin TAX…and still the pits!!!
HI all
Debra and Lori hope you’re both feeling better soon.Nothing wrong with a duvet day. Get lots of rezt and better days will come.
My daily update is that I’m Still in prison still being pumped full of antibiotics and temp is still doing exactly the same ie shooting up every time the paracetgamol wears off. Hoping to catch a dr today, but don’t know if his mum will let him out to play. I know this is paranoia but just a tad worried they’re Going to kill me somehow. Want out!!!
Love and hugs to all you suffering angels mel xxx
docetaxol cycle 2, day 3
hello angels, well I’m feelinok fine at the moment, making the most of it as tomorrow the s/e will kick in.
Lori sending you big hugs and hoping your feeling better soon, keep counting the days down this is the last time for you.
Debra, hope you can get your temperature down, take care x
Mel so pleased to read that your nearer home, it’s such a shame your not at home. I know your in the best place given the circumstances but hospitals don’t make you feel any better and the lack of sleep doesn’t help. The only good thing with scarborough hospital where I stayed was the food, it was gorgeous, James Martin the chef who does Saturday kitchen has overhauled the menus and the food is delicious. Fingers crossed that your home soon mel as you must be so fed up of it xxx
Pauline, your so right, I know, and I will go to the doctors, I’m just a chicken sh@@ when it comes to crap like this. Hope your mouths feeling better. What I want to know is when am I gonna go off my food, I’m seriously running out of clothes to wear as I’ve gone up 2 sizes since the start of chemo.
I’m getting a dab hand at drawing the eyebrows in now, but if I lose any more im gonna have to buy something to stop me wiping them off.
philomena, glad you’ve got your radiotherapy sorted, that will be another one to tick off, how may sessions do you have to have?
Amber, sandy, Moira, kim and Kate, hope your all doing well.
Wheres the bloody sun here today, I was going to paddle in the sea put its started spitting! Hope you’ve got the sun wherever you are and the s/e are bearable, have a lovely day ladies xxx judy
Wow Mel, can’t believe your still in chains…hope you feel better and that you get some answers and released soon. They are taking a while sussing the reason for temp. Thinking about you and wishing you all the best.
I hope to get up soon and maybe make it to the garden for some fresh air!
Hang in there you’ll be home soon I’m sure!
Love Lori x
Hang on in there Mel, I really do feel for you Hun, but your in the best place till they sort out the temperature. Have you got any good books or films you can watch on the tablet? I found the worst thing was being stuck in the ward, can you go out an about or don’t they want you leaving the ward for risk of infection? Take care xx
Hi Judy, thanks, hopefully start to feel better today with paracetamol, codeine and loperamide!
Hope you can get to docs and have your little problem checked out soon as I am sure you can do without any further discomfort! Sorry you have no sun today hopefully it will get out nice for you later.
Ah James Martin…I saw something on tv about him going round and improving hospital food lucky you to have sampled his delights. I met him last year at Goodwood Festival of Speed - what a lovely guy! We were supposed to be there this week too but the pesky cancer got in the way of that - hopefully we’ll be back for it next year!
Hope you have a good day…With some sun
Lori x
GLad you’re feeling a bit better lori and hope you’re getting your paddle Judy. Sounds like a great thing to be doing. I’m escaping the ward every aafternoon. There’s a costa downstairs so I get a cold drink and sit outside in the shade. Its hotter out than in atm though. Thinking of going to sit in car with air con on when oh comes!
Afternoon Angels, hope your all feeling better today.
MEL, glad they are allowing you a bit of freedom, it’s always amazed me with all th new hospitals built they never installed air con! It’s not too hot here in Norwich today, bur when it gets really hot M&s food hall is my fav hangout! Not to buy food, just to cool down.
Judy, glad you or eyebrow pencilling is going well, I think I’m down to single figures now on eyelashes and brows. Constantly in sunglasses when I go out as eyes water so much, I look like the voodoo queen in the Frog and princess… I have 15 sessions of rads to the main area, then 8 targeted on the tumour bed. I saw the programme with James Martin on Scarborough hospital, he worked wonders.
Lori hope your feeling better. Let’s hope someone soon finds a way of reducing the nasty mouth s/e effectivelythe bra, hope you are feeling better today and your temp has come down enough for next treatment
to all you Angels I’ve not mentioned have a good day x
Hi Angels sorry Mel you still in hospital, and Lori and Debra hope you feel better soon. Just managed to get a signal to read your post as having weekend away. It’s my Birthday today had a lovely day and just back from a walk on a beautiful white sandy beach it’s in Scotland too. Hope you all keep well Lynn x
Evening Angels, must apologise for the awful spelling etc, due to b*****y predictive text.
Happy birthday Lynn, did you say you were going to Dornoch? My brother in law lives near there in Dingwall.

Fingers crossed for an escape tomorrow Mel. You’ve been locked up for long enoughnow! I’m glad you’re at least nearer home.
Lori this is the last if the chemo SEs so you can repeat your happy dance again when they’ve finished flooring you xx
I started taking pain killers straight after the neulasta this time and the aches have been better, but the fatigue and tummy decidedly worse. It’s been nice sitting out in the sun though and my hubby is really looking after me, despite not being in the best of health himself bless him.
I hope everyone starts to feel better soon.
Mel xx
Happy birthday Lynn, hope you had a lovely day xxox
hope your feeling better Mel, I wish I had taken the pain killers earlier. I’ve just got 400mg Ibuprofen to take but the aches and pains are hitting now, last time it was Monday before the pain hit so things are not looking good.
take care ladies xxx judy
just updated my profile photo, we took my mum down to the sea front yesterday in the wheelchair, shared a strawberry waffle, it was yummy!
Happy birthday Lyn. Hope you had a great day. Glad pain is not too bad mel.
Judy looks like you’re both enjoying that waffle! Love to all mel xxx
Judy you look like you have been to the riviera, very envious of the all over tan. We should have gone to Yorkshire last week, but I was too tired and my OH was going to take me to the knickerbockerglory parlour in Scarborough for a treat! Hopefully will get there in the school holidays
Thanks ladies for the compliments, I think the tan looks much better in the photo than in real life. mel the waffle was scrummy! hope you get to scarborough during school holidays philomena. We love Scarborough for the shops, there’s just more choice than Bridlington but I do love our beach.
Goodnight ladies x
Would you believe they woke me at 5 am for a blood test!! What a great start to the day.
Ooo Philomena knickerbocker glories what a lovely thought!
Hope you all have a good day today with the s/es, and the sun shines for every one.

Morning Angels, have not been on the site for a few days and loads to catch up on. This cycle has been kind to me and I have been able to do a bit more and enjoy the sunshine. Went to Livrerpool to watch boyfriend compete in triathlon event, yesterday ventured out on my bike - first time since starting chemo. I chose a relatively short, flat route and boy did I notice every incline as I was so short of breath, but lovely to get out and feel so free. Friends I met when I cycled Lands End to John O’Groats have just started on a tour from Dover to Cape Wrath this week. I am following their progress wishing I was there with them, but this is perhaps something to aim for in the future.
Got to go and get dressed and go for my blood test done. FEC Cycle 5 on Thursday so 3 more days of freedom and sunshine to enjoy. My dad also visiting today. So wish my mum was around - she passed away 18 months ago with a very agressive brain tumour. She had surgery and radiotherapy but it was only ever an attempt to give her a bit more time. In the end it was only 9 months. I have some appreciation now of what she must have gone through and though I miss her so much she is a real source of strength when I think about how she dealt with everything and with such courage and dignity.
Much love to all you Angels, hope today is a good one. Mel - hope you have good news soon.

Take care Lynn x
Tax cycle 2, day 11
Afternoon Angels, pains almost gone now, mouth still sore but managing to eat again! Going away for a couple of nights this week for a wee break before it all starts again next week!
Lynn - happy belated birthday, enjoy Inverness
Lori - hope you feel a bit better soon, when the pains go
Mel - I really hope you get out soon, must be unbearable being locked up all this time and frustrating that they can’t seem to figure it out!
Judy - you look amazing, lovely tan - I cant seem to get a decent tan on my baldy, think I’m being too cautious with the sun block!!
Carol - enjoy your last few days of freedom, sun gone from here at the moment but hopefully it’s coming back later in the week
Take care Angels and have a good week
Pauline xx
Pauline glad you’re feeling better. Enjoy your break hope the sun shines for you.
Im still in prison. Temp still going up sporadically still don’t know what or where infection is. Onc has decided to stop all iv antibiotics and see what happens. Feels a tad experimental to me, but what they were doing wasn’t working so might as well try something different. He says if I become really I’ll there’s another antibiotic we can try. Waiting for temp to go up so they can take blood to culture while its High . Only 37.9 so far, waiting for higher! (I’m just hoping it magically goes down and stays there!
