I started chemo here in Spain in January.
I am Stage 3 , node positive, ER+ and HER2+
I had a radical mastectomy and lyphn node clearance in December.
My oncologist has prescribed 6 sessions of Docetaxol and Cyclophosfamide.
I haven’t seen anyone else with this combination. (Nor do I know how to abbreviate it,e.g FECT)
Is anyone else on this combination, or any ideas, other than “this is Spain” why this would be?
Thank you and remember “Fight Like a Girl”

Yes I had all TCH (that is how you abbreviate it). Most people get FEC-T but because we are having Herceptin which can be toxic to the heart they don’t tend to give you that unless you are young and your heart will take it. I am post menopause and on a statin and blood pessure medicine so giving me two drugs known to cause problems to your heart is a no no.
The docetaxel is known as “Tax” hence the T and the c is either carboplatin (I had that) cyclophosfamide or … there is another one which Hazel had but I forget what it is called now.
They assess your, age previous medical history, stage, lymph nodes etc etc when deciding what to give you and most people do seem to end up on FEC-T. The last part of that is you guessed it Tax.
Oh thank you so much blueash.
You are a mine of information.
I have no heart problems so can only assume it’s my age, post menopause, and diagnosis.
Thank you again.xx
