Hi everyone,
I have been wondering if anyone else is like me? I know I am claustrophobic, due to shutting myself in one of our hen houses 6 years ago, and being unable to get out! Thank goodness OH came out of the house when he did, or I think I’d have tried to kick the shed door down! Anyway, I digress… when I had my Rads planning I didn’t think too much about being nervous, BUT when I went in the scanner I very nearly had a panic attack. My heart was going 19 to the dozen, and I really hated it. I didn’t tell the nurse that until afterwards, because I feel I am a freak feeling like that. Please, I would appreciate hearing if anyone else is the same!
Hugs to all,
Heather.x
I understand that a lot of people suffer panic symptoms in the scanners and most doctors are happy to give medication to calm
you down enough to get through it, so no you are not alone.
And thanks for the hen house story, I know it was pretty rough for you but i must confess it made me smile!

Thank you for your reassurance, Vickie. I hope I don’t ever need another scan, but if it was necessary I would definitely ask for medication first!
Glad the hen house story made you smile, I can laugh about it now, but it triggered off a phobia that raises it’s ugly head from time to time! OH can’t really understand it, cos he doesn’t have a phobia about ANYthing, bless him… not even me!!
Allthe Best,
Heather.x
