if you were to ask my daughter she would say looks good but waste of money and she is a hairdresser she has had them (lasted 2 weeks, a friend has had hers in for 4 weeks and they are now falling out ) there is many ways to have them put in glud, stitched and beaded also clip in and in all she would tell you to go with the clip in that way you can remove them at night very easy and no damage to your own hair , she found her head started to become tender and her hair not just the extensions started comming out said she would never have them again unless they clip in . we watching some on ebay for my other daughter(17) at the mo £13 and £2 p+p which is cheep but her hair isnt in good con also they are ok to be used with strightners .if i was u i would go for the clipins for now dont want to put to much strain on ur your hair ,wot ever you do im sure it will look very nice

Hi Rozita, I had hair extensions put in eight months after finishing chemo. They were Racoon extensions, and were subsidised by the Hair in Recovery cancer charity.(Google it) I kept them in for 12 weeks, returning to the hairdresser every four weeks for maintainence. I had no problems with them and they did not damage my hair.

Is your hair to your shoulders after 10mths post chemo Rozita? Mine is no where near that after 11 mths - i am jealous! xxx

Hi Rozita

I had Racoon hair extensions fitted at the start of December 2010 my hair was just the 4 inches long minimum they insist on.I finished chemo March 2009 and had, had my hair cut a few times because i hated the ‘frizzy’ re growth. My hair was in pretty good nick when i had them fitted. and when i had the follow up two weeks later the hairdresser was a little concerned because I few had dropped of by pulling out my own hair but she said as it was ony a couple she would leave them. Because of the bad weather I didn’t managed to get them checked just before christmas, by the start of jan i had a blad patch at the crown of my head. I eventually had them all cut out over christmas, it has taken until this month for my hair to grow where the thinning patch was.

I found it quite expensive too as you pay for the hair and an hourly rate for putting them in and of course a styling and cutting charge.

but saying all the above, i am glad I tried them as if i hadn’t I would have wondered what they would have been like.

Thnx all don’t think il risk it will keep with my wigs wen goin out n iv got sum clip in ones from b4 so I’ll use them wen it gets a bit longer it’s Th tight curls tht r Th worst takes ages to straighten. I can imagine in Th hot weather il give Shirley temple a run for her money
Naz I never went completely bald had Th cold cap so kept a bit tho it was very patchy n thin but probably helped in it growing back sooner
