Hey guys.
Anyone on here from Norfolk?
Would love to know how the norfolk and norwich treat us ladies?
I was dx on 24th April and will have my Op on thursday.
I am 32 with two babies and just starting on this unpleasant roller coaster.

Hi Evie
Just bumping your thread up hoping someone from Norfolk will see it. Sorry you have had to join us. Wishing you well for Thursday. You will get loads of help and support on here and make lots of lovely new friends on this journey.
Best wishes Judy x
Hello Evie,
I no longer live in Norfolk but I was was treated for my BC at the Norfolk & Norwich hospital when I was living in Wymondham - this was in January 2007.
I found the treatment and staff at the hospital to be very good - I had Simon Pain as my breast consultant and Elaine Sassoon as my plastic surgeon and I still see them now. I didn’t have any chemo or rads so can’t comment on that aspect of treatment but have had 2 mastectomies and recons (second one preventative). Both Simon and Elaine are lovely and I actually look forward to seeing them both. I’m sure that some more ladies from Norfolk will come on soon - I know of one support group and that’s the Keeping Abreast group, but this is aimed more at women who have or who are going to have breast reconstruction and I don’t know what surgery you’re going to have. However, I’m sure if you contact them they will guide you in the right direction - google Keeping Abreast Norwich and their website will come up. I think Anna and Beverley are the main contacts.
Hope this helps - good luck with your op and sorry you’ve been dxd - I was 38 with three young boys when I was dxd - it’s horrid.
Love,
Sallyx
Hi Evie,
I’m 36 & live in Norwich and have just started out on this journey too. Had mastecomy on 17 April and am about to start Chemo, will find out more tomorrow at the N&N.
My surgery went really well and was home again 3 days later after having the drains removed. The staff and nurses were fantastic so you’re in safe hands. Hope it all goes well for you.

Hi all, I’m also in Norfolk but being treated at King’s Lynn. So far treatment has been excellent, have just had dose no 8, on Epi-CMF, only 4 more to go. Have asked to go to Norwich for reconstruction as Elaine Sassoon is excellent, have a friend who had it done by her about 7 years ago, also my son had an ear correction op done by her. She has a website for the private side of her treatment.
Good luck with all the treatment, it’s hard work but doable.
Best Wishes Alison
Hi
I had my treatment at the N&N in 2007 and apart from a couple of hiccups getting my DX I was looked after very well.
We are very lucky in Norwich to have the BigC centre within the grounds of the hospital and I can’t recommend it enough. It was my saviour on many occasions waiting for test results, chemo etc. It is staffed by lovely ladies and there are all sorts of complimentary therapies you can have so it is well worth a visit.
Good luck with everything, you are in safe hands.

Meant to say i am still under their care and 2 years on all is well
