Hi
I am about half way through my Radiotherapy, had surgery in August, and just wondering if there is anyone on here from the North East?
I have been in touch with a lovely lady from another part of the country who said she had attended a meet up for people in her area and she said it was lovely to meet others going through the same thing, albeit at different stages.
So was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who would like to meet up in the North East somewhere to support each other through all of this?
Hey Karen,
Hope you are well today . there is a group of north east lasses but they now meet through facebook as they got a bit cheesed off with this forum when the website was going through altrations - i don’t have the facebook link but maybe if you do facebook you will be able to find them? Or we can just keep bumping this up and hope one of them sees it. I am 2.5 years out and live in newcastle, happy to help with anything if I can - I quite enjoyed the chatting to other women when at radiotherapy, found the bit after treatment finished the hardest,
looking forward to hearing back from you, Nicola
Hi Karen and Milo1
I’m also in the North East, getting treated at James Cook in Middlesbrough. Had surgery in August and September and starting chemo 15 November. Milo1 I’ve also been told about the support group but have not yet been either. Thinking of going but need to check date/time first

Hi
Thanks for that Moorcow, I will have a look and see if I can find it on Facebook but not very good at finding anything on there, hopefully someone can provide a link or at least the name of the group i am looking for.
I had my surgery in QE in gateshead and having Rads at NCCC (no Chemo needed).
Got a place on the Look Good feel Better workshop on Monday morning to look forward to, maybe I will meet some locals there
Karen
Hope you enjoy the LGFB workshop - see my post of yesterday in inspiring stories for a laugh about how friendly the north east is! do get in touch if you want anything particular , all the best Nicola
I’m in County Durham, just finished Chemo today, next stop surgery and then rads at James CookAre to there any younger people out there? As I have never met anyone on my visits to hospital. I turned 40 in September and it would be great to talk to someone of a similar age
