I would like to know if there is anyone in the Whiley Bay area who might just want to know someone to sound off now & again or just enjoy a cuppa coffe etc.
I was dx last May. Mastectomy. chemo, rads. Herceptin & now another 4 years of tamoxifen.
I have four grown up children ( youngest almost 18) and many friends but I would like to befriend someone who knows what it is all about ( Treatment, anxiety, feelings etc. )
My husband works away for 5weeks and is home for 5weeks so I spend a lot of time on my own. I am normally a bubbly person but at the moment feeling a little sorry for my self and after 20months of being tied to the hospital every 3wks( I finished Herceptin this Dec) I realise now I must get out there & get myself a life, and frankly I don’t know where to start.
Would love to hear from anyone.

I live in Whitley Bay, in between Whitley and Monkseaton. I was dx March 2005 with lobular bc and had bilateral mastectomies and reconstruction. I had problems with infection following reconstruction and lost the implants initially, but then had inflaters put in and eventually over a few months had them inflated and permanent implants put in December 2005. I have been on Tamoxifen since. In January of this year they found two small patches on my liver, which said liver metatases couldn’t be excluded on the ultrasound scan, but following MRI after a three week wait I finally got the good news that they were a liver cyst and a hemangioma… phew, close shave!!! Just four weeks ago I had lipo infill to creasing on the breasts and the left breast was filled out more, as that was the breast that had had the worst of the infection, and I lost a patch of skin, so the breast had never looked right. At the same time I also had my hysterectomy scar revised. I had been left with a slight muffin top following the hysterectomy last summer and the Plastic Surgeon offered to correct it at the same time as the breasts. Following the liposuction taken from my tummy and hips they have made the breasts look better. I am due to go back to work next week.
