Anyone know of anyone who has had babies after ER+ Tumor?

Hi everyone,

Wa diagnosed in june 2008 with a small low grade ER+ tumor. Was then put on Tamoxifen and Zoladex and been told that ill stay on this for 5 yrs. I had a double mastectomy as I was only 22 when I got BC; really really really want a baby of my own once am off the treatment but im petrified that it will come back as i was pregnant just before i got BC and lost the baby…have been told that this and my genetics = breast cancer. I had the double mast as a preventative measure, so I know that it wont come back primary, just worried about secondaries.Anyway im just wondering if anyone knowss of anyone that has had a purely hormone cancer then gone on to have children and not had reoccurance because of the surge of estrogen? I think i need to make the decision now if to have kids or not so i can get used to my decision. I cant see my life without kids and would prefer to have one of my own.

Anyones input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there yes I was diagnosed in 1990 had lumpectomy and radiotherapy tumour er pos.I had a full term pregnancy in 1994 after 4 years on tamoxifen. All the data I have read says there is no increased risk of breast cancer after a tumour, I even breast fed on the good breast. I did have a reccurence last year in the same breast but was 18 years on so nothing to do with pregnancy. I am sure if you contact cancer research they will tell you there is no increased risk. take the tamoxifen for the 5 years and then try it doesnt affect your fertility.If you want to know anything else just ask best wishes suzanne.
