I was diagnosed with BC in September and have had a lumpetomy and am now awaiting radiotherapy at Royal Berks Hospital, Reading. Would be interested to discuss doctors, etc and treatment with anyone locally.
Hi Rose
I live in Sandhurst (nr Bracknell) and finished my radiotherapy at the Royal Berks 3 weeks ago. Staff are lovely and put you at ease. Must admit I was petrified on my first visit because I did not know what to expect, afterwards I thought what were you worried about.
If you need any particular information let me know.

Hello Rose.
I’m in Ascot and had radiotherapy at Royal Berks in April and May this year. Although the staff are lovely and put you at ease and make you comfortable I didn’t like radiotherapy at all!
Lynn
Hi everyone, I had a masectomy in June and just finishing chemo going on to radiotherapy. JUst tought I would say hello.
Dee
I’m in Ascot, diagnosed today. I’m in walking distance of the hospital where I’ll have the surgery.
How’s it going with you ladies now?

Dee
Hi All
I was dx last Nov, had Lumpectomy followied by mastectomy in Jan. I live in Binfield Not healing well and struggling with Arimedex. Feeling very tired, Any suggestions…
JazzChimp/Dee - I’m in Twyford as well!
Diagnosed in September last year, mastectomy and axillary node clearance in October/November.
8 cycles of chemo - last one this Friday and then four weeks of radiotherapy.
No Herceptin for me, but I will be having Tamoxifen.
Reconstruction some time next year for me too.
Miss P - I’m struggling with tiredness as well. Party chemo related I think, but also because I’m not sleeping very well at all - unless I have a sleeping tablet! I don’t have any advice I’m afraid - other than to not overdo things on the days you feel okay. Easier said than done tho!!
Hello to everyone else in the Reading area.

Hello Everyone
Newly diagnosed about three weeks ago, the same week as I was made redundant from my job so a double whammy! I’ve had the SNB op a couple of weeks ago and I’m due to have a mx and reconstruction any time soon at RBH. I live in the Arborfield area and would love to meet up with anyone for coffee and a chat. At least by talking I’m not spending all of my redundancy money lol. Reading or Wokingham are both fine for me. Let me know if you’re interested and we can arrange a date and place to meet

Gilly how awful for you double whammy as you say. Do PM me if you would like to meet J xx
Hi Gilly, welcome to the club no-one really wants to join. I have finished my treatment at RBH and can’t fault them for treatment and after care. I would be happy to meet up for a coffee and a chat, as I live in Woodley Reading or Wokingham are equally convenient.
Hi I live in Windsor but I do know Woodley/ Reading area. I think there is another thread going on in this area please do PM me J xx
Hi All
DX April 2010, surgery Heatherwood, chemo King Edward, rads Mount Vernon. If only I’d known about you all last year, would have been great, gets quite difficult when no one you know understands what you’re going through. Out the end now and feel great.
Had my first mammo after treatment last Monday, going back for results in a weeks time.
If anyone would like to meet would love to come along even though treatment for me has finished.
Take care
Lesley xx
Forgot to add that I live in Burnham.
I live in Wallingford, south Oxfordshire, about 30 min from Reading by car.
Hi Lesley we may have overlapped as my treatment was exactly the same as yours chemo KE vii, surgery Heatherwood exactly one yr ago to-day and rads at Mt V as before I live in Windsor.
Hi Barbwill lovely place Wallingford. Get ntogether some time? J xx
Hi, I live in Twyford near Reading. About to have reconstruction. This is on 6th June, getting a bit worried now.It would be great to meet up with you all when I am fit. Had Mastectomy 2009, chemo Radio and herceptin.
I live in Earley. Having treatment at the Royal Berks/Spire Dunedin (most of the way through chemo now, operation ahead of me then herceptin). There’s meet-ups happening already in the Reading area - have a look for the Southern BC thread in the local area bit. Think we’re trying to get as many together as poss for 29th June in the town centre?

Cheers amber, I was just about to say the same thing!
Look for a thread Southern BA Coffee Morning (long story how it got its title) but we’re meeting up in Reading on 29th, at Costa on the station around 11.30-12.00ish and then moving on to somewhere to eat. There were 15 of us last time!
If you’re interested, please add your name to that thread rather than this one, as I don’t think my brain’s working enough to be able to collate from several threads and if we’re as many as before we’ll have to book in advance.
Cheers,
CM
