im hoping to go wigging during the week so will post a pic of mine too when i get it. chemo is starting on thurs but not sure how long it takes to get the wig… somebody at hosp said 6 weeks but seems an awful long wait if im gonna be a baldy in 3 weeks.

I thought I’d add my wig photo (with my elmo balloon in the corner which hubby bought me as a treat after FEC 1!) Looking at your photos, it shows how realistic wigs are - I really thought I’d be wearing a fancy dress quality one! Looking fab girls!
Just getting ready for my blood test ready for tomorrow - I hope my levels are up so I don’t have to delay…

hi all
i`m back but feeling nausea and tierd ,have just rand docs to get some indigestion tabs, was sick friday again even after different anti-sick drug, think its upsetting my 10 year old abit, when he saw me next day ,he said you look better, as i had make-up on and wig, i was glad because it was his birthday and didnt want to spoil it,
my count was down last friday so had to have another blood test,which delayed abit but still got second one out of the way,
saturday while kids were at swimming i decided to shave the rest of my hair off, because it was everywhere, and yes the scalp does feel better,
pauline, is your hair looking good for take that, if not i bought some sticky things which make the wig feel alot more secure,shall save them for special occasitions or windy days, i was talking to a lady at the hospital whos wig looked great, she was telling us that she was in her car one day with the windows down,and yes it bloww off, thank god not out of the window but landed on the dog in the back seat lol
mumzie you comment on us all having the same style, we are all very trendy, as most the mothers in the playground also do lol,
am going to rest if i can ,but am restless, as things need doing,

hi girls - day 5 after last tax - yeyhaaaa - feeling the s/e’s a bit more now but look forward to about a week today…yes your scalp is tender I found when the hair is coming out but then settles - funny old time alright!! Your wigs look lovely everybody - I’ve got used to mine now and so have the kids in fact - even son who hated it in the beginning - said the other day that it looks better than my hair used to look!! Nice - say it as it is why don’t ya…mary x

i’l be joing the wig gang tomorrow as its being shaved off in the morning and to be honest icant wait now as its just coming out in hand fulls but not in patches thankfully so i’l be ok for my sons school meeting later today.
I think i look a bugger in my wig compared to the rest of you xx
funny old thing but my wig is a bob type too but the one ive got from hospital isnt , decided to get 2 so i can have one for best.
3 days til next cemo and counting.yikes

day 5 and almost back to normal, morning sickness persists but I do fancy food although Im having trouble keeping my jeans up, Ive lost a stone since diagnosis! (Ihad put on a bit) so hopeful that I may be able to get back to normal weight!!
Im hoping to see my man next week with my own hair and he’s hopefully coming with me for the 2nd FEC so hes going to shave it off them… Oh Im dreading seeing my head what is Ive got some horrid black birthmark there!!! HAHA
We are all so vain arnt we? But thats what women are for isnt it?..

so glad to hear it mumszy, wish i could loose weight, I’m a comfort eater and have just felt bloated this week!!!
I’ve felt grotty today, day 6 just so tired and not quite right, sore throat and achy, rang hosp but they said don’t panic until i get a temperature!!

Debs soz to hear your not feeling the best. Quite a few of the local mums and kids are having a sore throat and sickness bug…seemingly going about. Thank goodness kids off school soon so we can avoid these as much as poss! . No how you feel re the bloating, was like that abitlast week until period showed up…starting to feel normal again! Well normal until next tues and then 2nd shot of FEC! Take it easy and put your feet up when you can!
Mumszy could cope with a black birthmark but not if it was shaped like three 666!LOLS
Sally what day and number of Chemo are you on…as trying to gage when hair normally comes out!!

im now on day17 and that was my 1st FEC…2nd due this friday.My hair started to come out on tue of last week day 10 i think ,just bits on brush to start with but by sat it was coming out just by running my fingers through it, luckly i had thick hair but everytime i brushed it (kept to once a day) loads came out. by yesterday and today it was actually blowing out in the wind.
This evening i gave it a really good brush and absolutely loads came out…still no bald patches but now very thin so much so that i can see my scalp, but its being shaved off tomorrow because i feel i will look better with wig or scarves, plus im sick if it falling out and finding it everywhere.This might sound daft by i cant wait.
You might find that your scalp feels tender to the touch while your hair is coming out. it does pass 'cos mine isnt as bad as it was on saturday.
Hope this is of some help but everyone is different and yours might last longer.

sally 10 days is very quick is it not for it to start coming out.
mumszy i have lost half a stone since diagnosis last month… i was actually wanting to loose a bit of weight but not like this… although im not complaining too much its better than going to the gym.

Im not sure if its quick but my nurse did say that bythe time i have my next cemo my hair will probably be either gone or on its way out.
we’re all different and was hoping that it wouldnt be gone as quick as it has done, i found it very hard when it started and had loads of tears but now it dosent bother me as theres nothing i can do about it, so ive now taken the approach to embrace it and be a glamorous cancer patient.now thats my thoughts whether or not i’l look like one is another matter LOL

Well i suppose Ive only got 4 days of a complete head of hair left then, so chances are my man wont see the new haircut in the flesh, Ill probably be as bald as a coot by next Tuesday!!
Rosieff, I hadnt thought about that! Now Im not only worrying about a big black burthmark but also that it might say 666 !!!
Im feeling quite normal tonight apart from the fact that my ‘bad’ arm is hurting, and near my scar too, hope its a sign of the little blighters breathing their last!!

Hi Sally - are you finding your hair is coming out much quicker now? I’ve got FEC 2 today and I woke up this morning to find what looked like a small dog had moulted on my pillow - I think the clippers will be coming out later as it’s getting really annoying now. I have/had really thick hair so it’s taking it’s time to come out but getting itchy and unsightly!
I’m hoping I feel ok after number 2 - I’m quite expecting SE’s to be a bit worse so have the ginger and mints at the ready for the sickness tonight :o(

Sally txs for info as yesterday started to get a funny feeling that can only be described as ‘shivers going all over my scalp’. So think this is a good sign for things to come. Had long dark hair down my back and got it cut up into a blondish bob, but now that its grown out alittle I dont like it, so wont be a great loss!! Picking wig up today and its in the style of ‘Sarah Hardings’ hair from ‘Girls Aloud’, long fringe to hid behind 
Mumszy after seroma i got that ‘achey’ feeling on couple of occasions around the scar but thats the time to massage it with some cream like E45 as it disperses any fluid that may be still hiding there…really helps and softens the scar area.
Re the three 666, i’ll probadly be stamped with the number 7 as from a big family and mother had to keep check on us some way or other:-) My wig lady will be standing at Chemo door shouting ‘come in number 7 your time is up’!LOLS
LuLu have you lost the weight due to being sick or just gone off your appetite as mine seems to have increased and not even taking any steriods!!!

yes beverly my hair is coming out lots even today after a good brushing last night and not having much there really i found my pillow was covered.so its D-Day to day… its all coming off. put wig on to take my youngest son to school and a couple of mums said my hair looked nice, felt like crying actually. but then again they arent gonna say that wigs awful are they LOL… but its alot better than whats underneath. Im expecting the SE affects to be worse on my next one, but as they werent too bad on 1st im hoping to be ok, the sore tongue was the worst but its better now…Good luck for today xx
Rosiefff…sorry to say this but it sounds like its gonna start to come out as i had a tingly feeling on my scalp…I think we just have to expect it when it happens.its not easy as i had an awful time when it started.I lost weight too when i got diognosed but i think that was the shock etc cos for the past week or so i cant stop eating…god help me on the TAX as you can put weight on with that as its steriod based…but who gives a hoot hey as long as we get better that all that matters.
Its lovely and sunny here in North wales but my head already feels hot with the wig on so i might be plumpting for the scarves soon…
Well my friends coming soon with clippers yikes…My youngest son has said im gonna look like Matt Lucas when its done…Cheeky Monkey…bless him at least we can laugh about it.

ahh… i need to get to day 18 with hair, dont want Take That to see me with a wig on. Just got a few stray hairs at min, nothing to worry about yet, on day 13 now so fingers crossed. Dreading the first time i have to go out with wig on …
