Good morning girls,
Rosieff what day are you today? My head hurts and there was an awful lot on the comb when I combed it this morning - I havent dared brush it!! I really want to last another week but its not looking too hopeful!
Pauline, I wanted to go see James Taylor at the Dome but my ONC forbade me and told me I was silly to even think about it (wish I hadnt asked him now, sure I would have been OK but my man wont even think of letting me go now!)
Another bowt of morning sickness today but having done that Im feeling a bit better and have got some shreddies to stay down…
Ive lost weight since Dx, over a stone. Im the opposite of a comfort eater, just cant face food if Im stressed unless its put in front of me I wouldnt bother to do myself anything!!
good Luck with the school run sally, hope it all goes smoothly. My hair seems to be awfully greasy too, anyone else noticed this? havent suffered like that since a teenager thank goodness i havent got the zits to go with it!!!

Hi Girls
Im on day 14 and have been out and about all last week. But when I went up to Onc dept to pick (nancy)wig up today meet a lady who caught a serious infection during her low period / 7 - 14dys and ended up back in hospital. This has made me think about going about so much at this time!! Think i would get another week out of hair but weather so hot have decided to do the dirty deed and do a number 3 all over!
I think children tell the truth, so when my little girl seen me with wig on she thought I had just been to hairdresser and had it cut alittle shorter…had no idea until i threw it at her and we both fell about laughing!! She said 'Mum it looks better than what you have now!!! Who was it that said ‘never work with animals or children’???LOLS

Hi All

What a lot we are at least we can laugh about having wigs. I’m not that sure about mine I normally have very short spiky hair shoret aroung my ears, when I went to look at wigs there ws nothing even like my normal hair so ended up with a bob style and cannot get used to all the hair round my face , so have hairdresser coming tomorrow to cut it again. I have fuond a very short one on the internet in nottingham I think I may go and try it.

All we want is to look normal. I’m going out toight ith a friend so I’m putting one of my scarf’s on as they are really comfy.
I am on day 14 of 2nd fec and feel normal hurray!!!. The sore tounge has gone just have a very dry mouth. I think I have been paranoid this time as I had a low blood count at day 10 last time. I am being extra careful.

Love to all Marion xx

hi there everyone, just thought i’d share this with you. ( im day 13 after first fec and still have all my hair)
Just been out with my daughter and i had my sunglasses on my head, came to get back in the car, pulled glasses down and guess wot the nose bit was full of hair, put glasses on and looked like i had a mustach. Good job we laughed about it or you would cry. Just thought it might make you smile.

Luv pauline xxx

Hello ladies, glad everyone is ok - I really like your hair Sally - everyone looks great.

You really have gotta laugh Pauline - it helps get u through I reckon. At work today I got the sensation my wig was rising slowly off my head, but I was talking to a visitor so couldn’t tug it back down immediately, it did shift a little but not as much as I was imagining!

Well its been a glorious day in Norfolk - long may it continue, only a few weeks to go to the school hols yipee xx

hi all

Evening,
I went with my daughter for a hosp visit and saw a hairdressers in there that sold wigs… Couldnt resist and have ordered a dark blonde one in real 60’s style, was only £45… They also had really nice batik headscarves so I got one of those too (to cover up my hair which looks absolutely disgusting)
Its been very hot in South London too, and managed to wash and iron my bedding.
Going to have a lazy evening though as Im quite tired, got terrible indigestion!!
xx

Sally

It was about the same but i did stay i bed for the first three days I found I got up every couple of hours for a wander. The restless ness was the bit that really got me down. I wish I could have gone to bed and slept.

Its been lovely here in lincoln I had a friend visit and sat we in the garden in the shade of course

Marion xx

Pauline, that has given me a giggle!! got to get my wig later this week! Everytime I brush my hair I look to see whats happening!!
Its never looked such a mess as I try not to do much to it!

Laura I tried the cold cap too, how did you find it? don’t know whether to bother next time, sort of coming round to the bald idea!!

Hope everyone is well, at least the wig/hair stories are causing some smiles!
love Debs xxxx

sally, Take That on sunday…cant wait

Mumszy, i suffered with terrible indejestion then went to docs and asked for omprezone ( spelling may not be right) its one tab a day and it was brilliant, i took that about day 9, wish i had it sooner, took it everyday since and have been fine. i decided not yo take one today and i am still fine. Must have gone now (day 13) so i am drug free now hopefull till fec 2 anyway. Mumszy dont suffer, you dont need to

Hi everyone,

have followed your progress and comments with interest, laughter and sympathy. Had my first FEC yesterday.Had my hair cut really short before so it even spikes up on top (trendily??)as i wanted to try the cold cap bit and thought it would get closer to my scalp. When went away with OH for a few days treat in a posh hotel last week was dressing for “dinner” and said “oh damn… look at this awful hair style - cant do anything but tuft it up” His reply “was well dont worry darling its better than nothing!” Hmmm
Have chosen my wig but wont order it until the itching starts! Told they can get it in 48 hours. Will break the trend and not go for a bob…
My first treatment went well, so as others have said before it may well not be as bad as you dread, and boy was i dreading it . had done too much reading i think.

Good luck to everyone getting treatments , cant list all yet as just getting to know you all.

Hi,Mumzy i think you need some antiemetics is long time since you had the first one nurse from chemo unit said that we shoud be able to eat so ask for some better tabl -i am loosing weight as well and if goes for 3 months the body will not have normal nutrition and toxins on the top of it will be difficult to cope…
Hi,only1 chris i think you are lucky not to have to much SE …as it is horrible…
God luck to you Lulu tomm…

hi All
Im geting used to the bald look. have had some tears but just getting on with it. The boys are happy for me to go bare (just the head lol) around the house… OH has yet to see it, he has that pleasure at the weekend… dreading it actually but he got used to seeing me with one boob so its just another thing for him to get used to.And as he keeps saying your still you.bless him.

just thought id share this with you , if you are looking for scarves on a budget peacocks have some lovely ones ranging fron £3-£5. they also have some lovely sun hats for £5, i got a cowboy style one for the garden but will have to remember to wear a scarf (the real film star look)under it as it has holes in and id end up looking like a leopard, mind you they say animal print is in LOL… also got some lovely earings too. ive found its too hot for wig and have worn scarves and people have commented how nice I look. which at this time is a massive boost .

Welcome only1chris… glad your 1st treatment went well…we all dread the 1st as we dont know what to expect.

Hope your all well.

Sally xx

Take That and no hair on sunday i think… it is coming out in clumps today (day 13) so booked to have it cut really short tomorrow, not brave enough to go for the shaved look just yet, i’m gutted :frowning:

Luv Pauline xxx

Hey Sally HOW do you wear scarves to look good?

  • i always look like the Queen at a horse show!

Pauline - sorry to hear you wont make that date --damn so close! However i think you look gorgeous in your photo - hope i look 1/2 that good if i wear a wig.Which i will - cos i cant tie scarves…

Love to all from chris

hi all.Pauline im gutted for you…its bad enough loosing your hair without faceing Gary…im sure he’l understand xxxx

only1chris…the queen hey LOL.how i do it is fold the scarf in half to form a triangle, then place on head about 1 inch above eyebrows then hold the 2 long ends and put around the back and cross over and pull so its tight, then twist the 2 seperate ends and put it back round over the head cross them over and tuck in the sides,it ends up looking like this in the photo…sorry about the state of the photo i had to take it myself…lol
it should end up looking something between a turban and an aribian head thingie…

God ive just read this back and it sounds like gobbly gook… hope you understand it…LOL

If you cant get what ive said i think if you go on the mcmillan web site they have a section on how to tie scarves.
