Anyone starting chemo aound end of May?

Annie your new car sounds fab… im dead jealous.

pauline id be a bit reluctant to let them do it in your bad arm, if your veins are already shot in your good arm and you had no nodes out of that side what is gonna happen to the side you have had nodes out?

also have a google for lymphoedema support network for advice and help.

hi all
my arm is also playing up, feels very bruised from the four-arm to my hand, i am due first tax next week ,but that goes in via a drip rather than someone pushing it in,so hopefully it wont be as much of a strain on the veins, some of the nurses seem to think it a race how quick they get the drug in,i have heard them comparing,so pauline tell them to slow down and let the fluid go in,my second treatment is when my arm started hurting and the nurse was very matter a fact that she could do all my drugs with one water bag bearing in mine i am having big doses, yet the other nurse on my third took her time and used two bags and appoligised for taking longer, so i said it was fine
pauline hope it all go`s ahead today, and anyone else due treatment, anyone else coming up to having there first tax ???
hug julie x

Oh Lisa, sorry to hear rotten news. You have to look at it as a blip and you are now back on track - its a bummer messing up your holiday though, god knows we could all do with a little break. Now you are back home really indulge yourslef and treat yourself to something nice. I am sitting here feeling sick as a dog but cant take anti-sickness pills for half and hour cos I have to take a bone tablet first and be upright with nothing but sips of water for half hour - its probably a bit of hunger with me as well! I am eating for england and boy is it showing! You take care lovey - we are thinking of you lotsa luv xdebbiex

annie sorry your has been delayed,i am due my first tax next friday,if all goes well, my bloods last time were low but had blood test next day and they had come up,so fingers crossed for you
take care all julie m

Lisa- so sorry you have had a tough time.Having my chemo delayed is nothing compared to being in hospital. Hope you feel better today.

Julie-actually it was only delayed for a day because like you my bloods were up today. So I proved them all wrong as they said they wouldn’t come up overnight! So I’m back on shedule with you Marion.

I have been having my chemo in the afternoon so have found I am ok until I’ve had my supper and then the nausea kicks in by which time I’m ready for bed.

take care all

Hi All

IM back. on day 6 of 3rd FEC and finally starting to feel ok again… not been sick but having really bad sicky feeling even now, I never want to see another ginger biscuit again, LOL…had blisters on back of throat but they seem to be going now…no constipation this time, but the tiredness really gets me down as im not normally the type to sit and do nothing…felt so low on wednesday i was also ready for throwing the towel in too, bet we mustn’t let the b*****d beat us.

Ive just had a read through the last few pages and have caught up on everyones news, Hope everyone whos suffering are feeling better and good luck for those who are having or about to have the dose of yuckstuff.

Actually managed a short walk on beach today and it was lovely, me and OH and kids decided to have chips and i was throwing them for the seagulls and they were swooping down low and they were all laughing at me cos i was hanging on to the wig cos i wasnt gonna let one of those buggers pinch my wig and fly off with it.

Hi All

Looks like a few of us have had a bad wek. I went for chemo 3 2st tax on thursday but they could not find a good vien so had to go back yeaterday. I felt really low after all that a very worried about going back.Chemo ran out of date at 10 and after 2 more atemps no good. I said I would come back later so had to go back aain at 12 luckly after the third atempt they got on in. No reaction to the drug so that was good . No sickness so far and apart fom feeling weary I’m not too bad.

Annie, pleased your back on track.

Lisa Hope your feeling a bit better and more positive. It shard when you see the really poorly folk but you have to remember there are a lot worse of than us. That what I tell myself. We will beat this thing!!!

Take care all Love Marion xx

Thankyou all it is helping reading all your positive messages x
Lisa

Hello everyone,

Been on the outside looking in recently; did not feel i had anything useful to say… but a brief update might be interesting to anyone considering the cold cap. Had my second FEC 10 days ago and still have almost all my hair. Am almost frightened to say that; will it tempt fate?? Am having it done by Healthcare at home who gave me the caps to cool in my own freezer. I was advised to put caps in a full week before and get them really cold. A few days before the treatment i switch the freezer on to supa freeze so they are as cold as posiible… not pleasant to wear but bearable. I also asked for 8 caps instead of 4 and change then every 15 minutes instead of every 30 mins…

Good luck to all in the next week and to anyone trying the cold cap
Love C

Hi ladies, Just thought i would let you know i just heard from cathjue09 (julie m). she is in hospital ladies, she has a temp of 39.1, low count and if that isn’t enough she is being tested for swine flu. Can’t believe it, poor girl. She is due her 4th chemo on friday too. I told her i would let you all know and that we will all be sending her good vibes and big (((hugs))).
Luv to you all, pauline xxx

Poor Julie. Give her my love and best wishes; this is certainly not the best time to be having chemo in the midst of an epidemic! Hope it is a false alarm.
