Ill have to find the local library and use theirs until Im connected!!
Im soooo tired, cant sleep very well and have a kinda ‘bald vicar thing’ going on with my hair! Its fallen out completely from the top but has started to grow above my ears and round the back, and its black!!!— really weird, methinks the clippers will have to come out again, poor John, he hated doing it last time! No underarm hair though!! Oh well my bed is calling, cant believe that next dose (30th)i’ll be half way!! yippee!!!

sally im day 5 of 2nd epi and iv got the lumpy back of throat thing again… felt a bit sickly yesterday… but feeling better today although never slept much

my head still feels jaggy like im getting poked by a fork or some unruly hedgehog is have a bit of fun at my expense…

anyway the steroids are over for this cycle so hopefully normal sleep pattern will resume.

sue your daughter sounds so sweet… kids just seem to take these things in their stride dont they.

Pauline cant believe your nearly half way through already… what a milestone hey.

julie hope you enjoyed your sunday lunch yesterday. im sure you look beautiful bald too but you have to feel comfortable with and i know lots of people dont feel happy about how they look… i just figure its part getting rid of the damn cancer and the fact i have no hair means the chemo is working.

mumszy im not surprised your feeling knackered with all that packing… not long to go now till your big day… your bald vicar hair cut did make me LOL

love n hugz

Hello Ladies,
Hope you don’t mind me intruding on this thread, but I need some advice and a hug!
Due to have 3rd FEC Monday next week and I’m already dreading it!! I feel really weepy and wobbly about it. I had such a hard time with the last one, really sick, couldn’t do without anti sickness drugs for 8 days!!Can anyone give me some hope that it gets better, cos at the moment I’m ready to throw in the towel!

Love to you all.
Elaine.xx

Hi,Elaine you poor thing 8 days sick is a long time i am sick very much so for 24-36 hrs after that i start coming back to normal.my 3 FEC is next week wedn i am not looking forward to it -you better tell the doc how bad you having it i am sure they can change your tabl and you know if they dont work give them buzz tell your chemo unit about it…i am sure they can do something …take care

Hi Elaine, I think it is something we all dread for many reasons but to feel so sick for so many days is rotten - you must tell them at the chemo unit and a change of sickness tabs could be the answer - dont know what they gave u last time but I take Domperidone and they do the trick - I also take a daily opremazole for the acid feeling for a few days after chemo which also helps. Here’s a big hug (((( )))) for you - I have no.5 on Thursday and looking back it is going pretty quickly so DO NOT throw in the towel - you must be about half way?? so after this one you are on the home straight - chin up lovey, we are here to support each other - kick IT in the arse, dont let it do it to you xx lots of love debbiexx

Hi Krisid and Debbie,
Thank you so much girls. I read your messages, had a good cry, then had a chat with my BCN. Have felt so positive until now, don’t why I should feel so low all of a sudden. Yes, I will be half way after this next FEC, so that’s good, then I start Tax (x 3.)The chemo unit gave me Metoclopramide for the sickness, they worked for the 1st FEC, but had little effect this time. I was so scared cos I couldn’t even keep water down and felt dreadful!
Thanks again girls.

Lots of love.
Elaine.xx

Hi elaine, sorry to hear your having a rough time. Hang on in there. As krisid says you must tell them when you go for next chemo, they will change your anti sick tabs. Julie was the same and they sorted her for her 3rd.
I have my 3rd on thursday. I havn’t been sick like you but sunday this week i could have cried all day, for no reason. so it gets to us all sometimes. We are all dealing with a lot and we are allowed to feel sorry for ourselves (so im told) We will get through this together.

julie, love the new pic. The ‘look good, feel good’ session was great, met some lovely ladies and got a goodie bag worth over £4oo.Hope you enjoyed the film, you big kid!

Luv to u all, Pauline xxx

Hi Elaine-I really feel for you but don’t give up,you can’t let IT win!
I have been very lucky so far, in fact I keep touching wood. I have my 4th on Thurs and hope it is as before but who knows.I feel rough on the night and a bit nauseous for a few days and the tiredness kicks in about day 5 and 6 but then I’m fine. We are all so different and I’m sorry you are getting a raw deal but you must get your medication changed and try the sickness bands from the chemist.

There is masses of support here so make the most of it.
Sending you a massive hug and lots of love x

good luck to everyone on chemo this week, that’s another one out of the way!! x

HI EVERYONE
ice age 3 is a must, if you have no kids to take it dosent matter its great and very funny
hi elaine, for my first 2 fec i was very sick on the night, and then nauseas for the next week, before i had my 3rd i took anti-sick the day before and on the morning before i went, i also ate crytalised ginger in porridge for breakfast and nibbled it before my treatment,i was not sick that night, they gave me a different sick drug which i couldnt get until saturday called nozinan and took them along with lansoprazole for indigestion for about 8 days religiosly(cannot spell)and they worked really well, ask when you get there so they can order from pharmacy, apart from dry mouth 3rd was not bad, hope these help you ,we all get down ,last night i felt emotions creeping in,but i said inmy head no,and it went away
pauline cannot wait for the feel good session, just trying to sort who has kids as i have a appointment with michaels physo in the morning, hope all go`s well with 3rd tommorrow, and anyone else who is on third half way through,
hugs to all julie m

hi ladies need your help, can they give me chemo in my bad arm? i told them today my vains hurt in my good arm due to the epi… and there answer was that they wouldf try to find another vain in good arm if not they will try in my bad arm. Im not happy about that. Any advice from you ladies would be good. Might not be a problem tomorrow though as my blood was only 1 yesterday and needs to be 1.5 for tomorrow. so might be persponed anyway but will still have this problem next week. Nothing is never straight forward is it girls. If i do get delayed a week it means i will be going on hol 2 days after first tax, not good!!!

Luv Pauline xxx

Hi Pauline, my veins are pretty bad in the arm the chemo goes in - I have no 5 tomorrow and they told me last time they could use other arm if they need to because I only lost 10 lymph nodes from that side and the nurse said we have about 27 ?? I dont know, just put my trust in them and hope for the best - they did manage to find a vein after all so it didnt crop up - will have to compare notes after tomorrow - I have been massaging arm from top downwards for last 3 weeks and it feels a little better, sorry i couldnt be of more help, hope it goes well for you tomorrow (and anyone else due a blast) bye for now xdebbiex

Pauline
I wouldn’t agree to having chemo in your bad arm. They advise not to have it because of the risk of lymphoedema - swelling of arm. Type it in to google and you should find some info on it. I guess it depends on how many lymph nodes you had removed.
Hope this helps
Julie C

Pauline- I am also having problems with my veins. Last time they found another vein which was actually quite painful. Said they might have to use bad arm next time(tomorrow) but I am definately not letting them! There is so much advice about how to reduce the risk of lymphodaema and the main thing is to not cause injury to that arm. Giving Chemo in that arm would be an injury and a major risk so I don’t understand how it can be an option.Everyone has a different number of lymph nodes. I had total clearance which amounted to 11, but only one was affected.Hope you get your chemo tomorrow.

Had a really exciting day. Have just bought a Beetle cabriolet(second hand) and have driven it home from work today with the roof down! Never thought I’d be part of the ‘topless club’ but I decided to use some of my savings and buy something I’ve always wanted. This horrid disease has made me think more of now and less of the future.Just have to make sure the wig doesn’t go flying!

Love to all
