Anyone starting chemo end of August?

Hi,
start my chemo end of August, not sure what my emotions will be. At the moment I’m pretty calm so far. My truma seems a little rare according to the consultants especially having chemo first then surgery.
Anyhints what to expect? Anyone in the Leicestershire area?

Hi there is a thread entitled anyone starting chemo in Sept which you might like to join in with? I started the Amazing August thread but we are already 60 strong and some of us have our 2nd chemos this week! I found it better to be in at the beginng of a month, you get lots of support and helpful tips from the lovely girls in each group whichever month you decide to go with. Lots of luck on this journey none of us want to be on!

Hi V, sorry you find yourself on here along with the rest of us, my I suggest you join the September group, I would say the August Maisie but there are 62 of us already and you may as you are at the end of August find more benefit from September, there are some lovely ladies on there and they will give you all the support and advice you can need, do also dip into Maisie’s as there’s lots of info on there too. Am afraid I cannot offere advice but to say you will get through the treatment, everyone says it is doable and with support and advice everyone will get through it together. Please take care Meg xx

Hi IcleV, just dropped in from the Septmber Stars to see what the Maisie’s have been up to, always makes entertaining reading when you wake up earlier than you wanted to. Anyway, like you I’m having chemo first starting on the 3rd and yes it does seem like less of us do it this way. I have lump (incidentally called Damion) in left boob with lymph node invasion and the idea is to blast the little bugger to lessen the surgical impact I believe. As you are starting your treatment right at the end of August I’ m sure you could creep across and join the Stars where I know you would be very welcome. Personally it would be a great help to me to have someone travelling this journey on the same road. Right now I am fairly calm after weeks of worry waiting for results and chemo to start. Now I just want to get on with it. Hopefully we will be able to share some of this together. Best wishes to you. x
