Hi there, was diagnosed with breast cancer in Sept 2009. Successfully treated (left mastectomy and chemo) but have never allowed it to stop it living my life. In fact if anything it has made me more determined to live a better life.
Last April I went to Peru with a friend, we trekked Machu Picchu, went to the Jungle, saw the condors fly in the Colca canyon - fantastic experience. This year would love to trek Kilimanjaro at the same time raising funds for breast cancer care. I am thinking of doing it end of August. Would love to hear from other people thinking of doing it too.

Peru is my dream. Almost did it a couple of years ago but decided we couldn’t afford it.
Now I am determined once I get through my treatment to go for it (and add a trip round Galapagos Islands at the end).
It is really encouraging to hear you managed it after treatment, and good luck with Kili.

I would love to do the Killi trek, always been a dream of mine, but it’s always the thought of the fundraising that puts me off and we don’t have any spare money for me to just pay it myself, but if there was a way of doing it i would love to and most definitly if it was fundraising for breast cancer care as they have been a tremendous help to me over the last 10 months.
