I saw a very slight indent at the bottom of my left breast. Almost looks like a slight bruise but its an indent. After jumping hoops I finally got a mammogram. The mammogram was clear but I have very dense tissue so I was sent for a ultrasound 4 weeks later just to be thorough I was told. Well they only did an ultrasound on the breast with the indent. Sure enough to my dismay there was a lump. I ended up getting 3 core biopsies done then and there. The radiologist said he thought it looked to be benign but wants to be certain. The lump is about an inch from the indent. At this point I am expecting results any day as its been a week tomorrow. With the lump, indent and dense tissue I feel like the cards are sort of stacked against me and I am trying to stay positive but I am freaking out. I’m 36 with no family history but I also have Ulcerative Colitis.
Hi @Mrv168 - first of all I’d like to welcome you to this forum, but I’m obviously sorry you have found yourself here. The waiting time is probably the hardest, as our minds will always race ahead no matter what we try to tell ourselves. I’m not medical so I wouldn’t like to try to diagnose your situation, but I would say that from my experience on here I’ve seen many stories where lumps have turned out to be benign.
We’re here to hold your hand as you wait for your results, so feel free to offload or chat as much as you need, or if you just need a hug. See if you can find something to distract you while you wait - perhaps watching some easy to watch box sets, or spending time with friends. And lots of treats and self kindness, whatever it takes.
I really hope you get the reassurance you are looking for and please do come back and let us know - if you want to of course. Sending hugs, Evie xx
