Anyone

It’s do good to feel normal again and be part of the outside world!

I’m due back in the office at the start of September but they have said to do whatever I feel is right.

Was nice to go and watch hockey tonight, I’ve missed bring in the stands but I’m ready for bed now though

Freaking out- help!!
I had a bad night last night. Woke up wet through… when I went to get up this morning, I found a tiny spot of blood on my boob near the tumour wound. On wiping, it is still wet and seeped through my bra straight away.
The swelling has mostly disappeared over my breast but it looks like a hump over this wound…

Cancer nurses not available until 9am and I’m panicking… help!!

Don’t panic. It’s just over an hour till 9am and you can then speak to nurses. Make yourself a drink , go for a short walk , anything to pass the hour. Please let us know what the nurse says. Here for you x

Sorry, I completely panicked this morning, then my hb freaked out and said “I told you you were doing too much”, which just made me feel worse.
I’ve filled in an econsult for the gp (as a back up) but I’ll call my nurses as soon as they open.
It looks to have stopped, and the whole thing feels less tight than earlier, but I think it definitely needs looking at…

Got an urgent gp appointment at 11am. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

How did you get on?

Waiting for call backs. Was seen by a less than sympathetic GP who frightened the life out of me by telling me my breast could full of puss! It’s not. My temperature is normal, I asked him to double check. So, I waited for 40min to be seen by a moron who tells me my temp is normal but I’m so riddled with infection that my entire boob could be full of puss! He said to go to A&E. Well, I don’t want some kid who doesn’t know what he’s doing shoving a needle or a scalpel into my breast!
I’m still waiting for bcn to call me back and I’ve left a message with my surgeon’s secretary. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:
It does look an odd shape but it was a tiny amount of blood this morning.
I’m inclined to wait and talk to them rather than sit 9 hrs in KCH!
They might be able to see me later today - or tomorrow am. I’m pretty scared… if it gets worse, of course I’ll get go to A&E

On my way to hospital where surgery done. Bcn will meet me at the bc clinic. She thinks it’s possibly a seroma that needs draining. At least I’ll get sorted today :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Glad to hear you’ve heard back from your BCN.

Hope they get you sorted out and put your mind at rest.

On my way back home after having 140mls of old thick blood drained from my tumour site. :flushed: So, haematoma :woman_shrugging: . BCN was disgusted that the gp didn’t aspirate it himself, instead of sending me on an 80min drive (round trip) to Margate hospital! …
Anyway, I’m much more comfortable. And no longer panicking! Thanks ladies! :hugs::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

So pleased that you finally have it sorted Alison.

I’m sorry that your GP wasn’t helpful and although it was a long journey it sounds like you were in the best place for you and what you needed.

Sending you lots of love hun :sparkling_heart:

Hi ladies

Hope you don’t mind but I am hoping for some advice from you lovely lot.

My dressings are due to come off tomorrow but the one from the lymph node op came loose so I took that one off yesterday. I’m worried about what the tumour scars are gonna look like and have no idea what to expect when removing those 2 dressings.

As I have to do it myself I was thinking if it would be okay yo take them off today whilst it’s just me and my daughter here? Her boyfriend has been amazing having me stay with them and cooking for me etc but I kinda don’t want him around in case I’m a bit of a wreck at what I find :grimacing:

Any advice of what I may find or what I should do would be much appreciated

Bless you. I had haematoma too (a lot ) so understand how scary this is. Breathe, take it easy, you’ve had a shock but, most important of all, keep in touch with your BCNs and report any changes to them.

Do whatever you feel is right but arm yourself with a similar sized new dressing in case you’re either a bit leaky or you just want to cover it up again.

It’s a big step, good luck x

Hi Bella

I didn’t think of recovering it :grimacing: I have some gauze and tape, would that do it do you think?!?

It depends on its state, gauze will stick if it’s not healed. It might be fine, how long has it been?

I’m just cautious because I’m a slow healer…but I was thinking you might want to protect it as well…?

I had the op two weeks ago tomorrow (10th July).

A lot of people seem to have been told to take their dressings off after a few days so I thought maybe the hospital was being super cautious!

I didn’t have any dressings as I was glued, it seems like everyone’s different as usual.

I’d go 100% with the direction you’ve been given x

Hay Charlotte, blimey, what I day!
Re your dressings, my outer ones came off really easily on both lymph ones and lump ones but the steristrips had to be peeled really gently from lymph and the nurse used some saline type liquid to help remove the big ones from the lump removal. That said, they came away relatively easily and it wasn’t painful- just a bit scary at what was lurking underneath. As it happens mine were very underwhelming!! Two very decreet incisions with a thin link line. (Pink is good). Good luck and take your time. Clean hands- get prepared before you start. Go slow.
Thinking of you :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Thank you for all your support today ladies :hugs: xxx
