Anyone else awake and worrying
Hi smak
Just seen your post
Nights can be the longest, loneliest times. Your mind is in a constant loop and you feel like you are the only person awake.
How are you doing?
Lots of lovely people on this forum but I’m always happy to chat

Dear smak,
So sorry you’re have a restless evening, our brains seem to do overtime, as soon as we need to rest.
I would suggest, a notepad write down whatever is on your mind, however big or small, tomorrow when your feeling a bit better maybe deal with what you can, speaking with that special friend, who has time to talk and help with through this difficult time or make arrangements for meet up for a coffee, I find a walk is good with this beautiful weather we are having. However I know this is all very easy for me to say when your not feeling you best.
Keep posting letting us know how your getting on, we are here for you at any time.
Take good care, one day at a time at the moment. Wishing you well.
Hugs Tili
Thank you Lyn x
Tonight and tomorrow night to get through before I get results and treatment plan. I know surgery will be first. Feel I will cope better once everything is in place
Morning all, I’ve been awake since 0400 again, the downside of mid summer early sunrises!
Just to add, I use the Headspace app for meditation and relaxation which really helps. If you’re working some employers offer free licenses.
@smak the waiting really is the worst. All the very best for your appointment x
As for me, I ended up having emergency surgery 6 days ago to clear a haematoma in my wound which decided to leak quite dramatically late at night. My husband called 999 so I had a blues+twos ride to hospital where I stayed 2 days. I realised a few days ago that it had caused v mild PTSD which was preventing me from sleeping, so listened to one of the BCN podcasts (featuring Anna- sorry I’ve no idea how to add the link) which also helped a lot.
I’ve been instructed to rest as much as possible, which I am, but also need some physical excercise to enable me to sleep. I’m taking short walks outside daily (~ 1-2 miles) but still struggling with getting the balance right. Any tips greatly appreciated!
Almost time for that first pot of tea! Have a good day everyone, it’s another day towards feeling better

Hi, thank you so much for checking in with me. I’ve had my second MRI and am hoping I will get the results and treatment plan today. Very anxious about it. How are you ?
Was seen by consultant today and surgery is scheduled for 17th. MRI showed tumour to be 32mm instead of the original measurement of 20mm. Radiotherapy to follow surgery. Feel better knowing what’s coming.
.
Dear Smak,
Wishing you lots of luck with your surgery and radiotherapy. One day at a time, be kind to yourself lots of rest and good food to build you up,
I know you can do this, however take all the help offered. Will be thinking of you.
Health and happiness going forward.
Hugs Tili

Hi Tili, thank you for your lovely message. I saw the consultant yesterday and surgery is booked for 17th. I can either have a lumpectomy or mastectomy. I have too next week to decide. All systems go naw. How are you ?
Dear smak,
I’m fine thank you. Enjoying this beautiful weather now it’s a bit cooler.
You have a lot going on at the moment, I know you will make the right decision, only you can. Your having surgery on my sons birthday so will remember you when we raise a glass.
Much love my brave girl Tili
Good to hear you have a date for surgery. Thankfully not to long to wait too. Didn’t realise they gave options for types of surgery, that’s a very tough decision to make. Wishing you all the best xxx
Hi ladies, recently diagnosed with breast cancer and like a lot of have said the nights are tough as my mind is constantly whirring. I am having a double lumpectomy on Thursday with lymph node removal (at least 4). Has anyone else had a double lumpectomy as I’m struggling to find information about what I’m gonna need for the op and afterwards

Dear lottie73,
Welcome to the forum, we are all here for you with love and support.
Wishing you lots of luck for next Thursday with your surgery, we all get very anxious before any procedure
quite understandable,
I’ve have had a mastectomy and a single lumpectomy at different times, I thinking you may have an overnight stay in hospital, most hospitals like to use there gowns these days which are very comfortable and convenient, a good supporting bra is needed, and maybe a book to read, and your usual wash bag I think this will be enough.
Take good care, be kind to yourself try to have something nice to do, a coffee with that special person or a nice walk in the park or just cuddle up on the sofa with a good book what ever makes you feel comfortable.
Please let us know, how your getting on when you feel up to it, wishing you well with health and happiness going forward.
Biggest hugs Tili
Dear @smak , I am sorry to hear you are having difficulty sleeping. What has helped me is using the sleepio app. You can download this for free at Onboarding Sleep Test - Sleepio.
No caffeine after 2pm. It took me a while to realise that also includes chocolate! An eye mask helps to keep out the early morning light. I got a travel one for two quid at Millets.
Wishing you well xxx
Hi Tili
Thank you for your lovely response. The surgeon is hopeful that this will be day surgery which would be ideal as I’m terrified of hospitals. You mentioned good support bras, do you have any recommendations of where I can get these from?
I will be staying with my daughter for a while as I have 4 dogs so don’t want any injuries. Just getting really nervous now as it’s just days away.

Lottie73,
I would suggest M&S for a Bra as they do have trained staff to help also a good selection.
Please to hear you will be a day case, much better to get home if you can, I know your daughter will be on hand to help you and your four legged friends.
I hope your surgery goes well, after my lumpectomy I was fine so fingers crossed for you.
Hugs Tili
Hope he has a lovely birthday and enjoys his celebrations. I have decided to have lumpectomy as recovery will be quicker. I’m not good at being a patient !!
