Anyone

Hi @pmeg14 , thank you so much for this. It has helped on so many levels. Just googled cording and it’s definitely what I have. Relief to know it’s just not me. Also good to know you are not having any side effects from your hormone therapy. I’m 70 and really don’t want to go through menopause again. I’m am ER+ and PR+ so not sure what drug I will be offered. I hope your treatment continues to go well.
Thanks again

Hi Sheelagh, glad to be of help. I’m a few weeks away from turning 74 and have, (sorry had :grinning:) stage 1, grade 2 BC, ER+ PR+ and, just to reiterate, I had no menopausal symptoms or hair thinning or bone problems on the Letrozole so I really hope it’s the same for you. Apart from the emotional rollercoaster of actually having had cancer which was the hardest part of the whole process, I feel so lucky that it was caught and dealt with early. Let us know how you get on next week. Take care. Pam x

Hi ladies

Thank you so much for all the info on the treatments and for being so open and honest.

I’m 52 and would say post menopausal as last period was around 4 years ago. Suffered badly with hot sweats at night and some mood swings but getting a lot better now so not looking forward to going back to that and I don’t think hubby is either :joy:

I had ER+ (8) PR+ (7) HER2- grade 2 in both lumps which thankfully has been removed. Does anyone know if the type of cancer histology make a difference to the drugs that you are prescribed?

Also to the ladies who said they ask for a particular brand from their pharmacist, how do you go about finding out what’s best
?!?

Sorry it’s more questions :grimacing:

Hi, honestly it’s trial and error in my view. If you get a brand that suits you, try and stick with it. I’m not sure there is much difference between them, I had Sun pharma from the hospital and then Accord from the GP pharmacist. Both were fine, I know others have problems when the drug supply companies switch brands. Your consultant will review which AI to put you on, and you can work with them to get the one that suits you. Popping a pill for 5 years was the easy part of this journey for me personally as I just want it to go away… I’m dreading radiotherapy impact on my body and poor scars and just hope they’ve got it all out following surgery :crossed_fingers: Have a good weekend! Hi, I found a heat pack or warm hot water bottle helped with the under arm scar tissue. I can feel a knobbly scar in my armpit where it’s knitting together, it’s bloody painful :persevere: Hope it gets better soon. xxxz
