I guess you must be at your appt now, sorry I didn’t log on sooner and wasn’t able to wish you well. Hope to hear how you got on sometime later. Will be thinking of you and just remember that whatever happens you can get through it.
Yesterday went really well, thanks for asking. I was sooooo nervous but I really neednt’ve worried at all. The chemo day centre was fab, the staff were awesome and couldn’t do enough for us. My nurse who was administering sat withus the entire time and was absolutely wonderful. Been taking the anti-sickness meds religously and so far so good!
Hope all goes well for you, take care,

Just got back!!! Hi
Just got in from the breast clinic and feel…well I don’t know what I feel!!!
The Dr. examined me and agreed that she could feel a lump, she thinks it is probably fibrous tissue. She then said I would need an ultrasound, which I was glad about . She then signed the forms and said “see you after the ultrasound”. I then left the room thinking I was going for my ultrasound when a nurse came and met me in the corridor and asked me to drop a form off at reception. I replied what for? she said so that we can book you an ultrasound, I then said WHEN? she replied they will be putting an appointment in the post and the appointment should be in about 2-3 wks time, she then advised me I would need to come back to see the doctor a week after the ultrasound for the results.I asked “what about the one stop shop”? she replied Ohhhh no we have only one lady for the one stop shop today and this is only for Urgent cases
I was so knocked by this that I just left the clinic without questioning it further. I suppose that they have felt many boobs and really think mine is nothing to worry about but I do feel let down by the system that is now making me wait again. I thought the idea of ‘One stop shops’ was that it was all done in one foul swoop to avoid people waiting for appointments- I was sadly wrong.
Anyway enough moans form me, I am glad it went well yesterday-was thinking about you.
Keep in touch

So sorry you got fobbed off today after the anxiety you have had waiting for today. However like you say they do feel a lot of boobs so as she seems sure its fiberous tissue you can feel better although l know until you have a scan and the results are in you wont be happy and thats normal.why not ring up ultra sound dept and ask if they can give you appt so at least you have that.take care it sounds better than it might have been.love sharon x
Hi V
Sorry you didn’y get your results today. I personally read into that , that waiting for the results as good news. my ultra sound lady told me thereis a definate pattern to the shape of cancer on the scan. i think it sounds to me like what i have, a fibroadenoma, (this is s benign tumor), my lump was 35mm they said anything less then 25mm they would have left, but as it was larger it was taking to much of my breast tissue. This type of tumour does not lead to cancer.
If its any consellation i was classed as a non-urgent case and they were right.
I had my surgery today and 3,00pm and was back hope at 8.30 lucky for me i don’t react bad to a general anasetic. It a bit tender, cannot wear a bra, probably will be sore tomorrow. My surgeon says the tumour will still be tested (i had a biopsoy), but he was 99.0 % certain it was not cancer.
Still thinking about you

Hello V So sorry the waiting goes on for you it should be one stop to a diagnosis. Its the only time I wish to be royalty cause then it would all be sorted like yesterday!!!
Hi Victoria
sorry to hear that you did not get a definitive answer yesterday, I know exactly how you are feeling.
I saw my GP a year ago today and did not see the consultant until a month later, then between that date and the end of August I had 5 more appointments for Mammos, scans, FNA & core biopsies (2 different appts). It was 3 1/2 months before I was diagnosed with BC.
I do hope your appointment for your ultrasound arrives soon and you finally get an answer to what your lump is.

Although I agree that the waiting is the worst part of this journey, you imagine the worst, we all do. I just wanted to point out that in my hosp, they do a triple test on the day and give you the result 1 hr after biopsy.
My Oncologist told me it was cancer before he took the biopsy from the feel of the lump and the results of the scan and mamograph. So maybe your team new your was benign from these other tests so not considered urgent.
Try ringing the BC Nurse to clarify the reasons to make you wait in affect another month.
Good luck
Irene
Hi Irene
I called the clinic and they explained that they only offer a one stop service for women originally referred by GP as urgent so the wait is the norm apparently. The nurse said when the unit opened last September that they had planned to offer 100% one stop service to all referrals but unfortunately they are unable to so.
So being sent an appointment so in the post for each part of the triple test is procedure in my area!
I feel at lot more relaxed that in the last two previous weeks since finding the lump as at least I am on my way to finding out what it is.
Ever the optimist and I do have some trust in those in the know as I put in post last night they must feel so many breasts in their work.
Take Care
Thanks for all your support I am glad to hear that in your area that one stop is just that.

Hi V Hi V,
sorry to hear that your appt wasn’t quite as smooth as we had all hoped it would be. Something positive to take from it though is they obviously don’t see you as an urgent case, so I’m certainly keeping everything crossed for you.
Keep your chin up this next couple of weeks and try not to get bogged down with ‘what if’s’. Take care and be sure to keep in touch,
Kelly
