Appointment wait just seems wrong

Thanks @Tili ,

I am so relieved its done and hopefully nothing further to be dealt with

I think I was more anxious about the op its self than why it was being done. Which makes not much sense!

@lori2 I think that actually makes perfect sense :pink_heart: this is definitely relatable. I don’t know whether you’re usually a cryer or not - but if you’re not like me - a suppressor! - I found it helps sometimes to have the most ugly gulpy cry of your life, like you’re getting a load of crying episodes you missed out on in one go! Thinking of you and hope you can find some little things to bring you joy. Getting lost in a book is always a good distraction I think - and I have a million recommendations if you want any! :pink_heart:

Having a good cry is very therapeutic I find. I am generally a cryer, as is my husband. Our, now adult, children constantly roll their eyes at us when watching the telly and one refused to sit with us in the cinema as we were embarrassing her by crying too much :rofl:

If you’re looking for stuff to watch this weekend I thoroughly recommend the Barbie film. Looks great, well acted and makes you think. Margot Robbie is sickeningly beautiful but I can just about cope with that

Yes the Barbie movie is great! It helps that I am one of those Peter Pan people who’ never grew up (in every way!) and I’m surrounded by Barbie, Hello Kitty, Care Bears (you get the idea!) so I was excited for that movie for the longest time! I’m also always in pink and I was mad that everyone at the cinema were all wearing pink too - I’m not used to blending in! For my birthday that year my gorgeous daughter drove from Newport to Swansea to pick up Barbie vegan cupcakes for me. Safe to say that was nearly a crying moment! While I don’t cry about serious things - films and even adverts can have my eyes leaking. I needed to re do my mascara after going to see The Fault in our Stars (quick pic of my cupcakes!)

I need to be banned from World of Books - had 4 delivered today, but all second hand so I feel good about that - less good about trying to find space for them! :joy:

Wow those cupcakes look fabulous! I love pink and a bit of glitter just makes the world a better place. I read on an kindle so its astonishingly easy to buy books and no storage problems!!!

Aw I’m no good unless I have a physical copy but I definitely would do better with a kindle as unfortunately I’m a bit (a lot!) of a clutter queen :grimacing: I often say books should be packaged in plain covers because sometimes they’re just so dark pretty I can’t resist!

You can always sell books back to World of Books that you’ve bought - if they want them. My ‘profits’ go to buy the ever expensive dog treats. I read copiously during all my cancer stuff but now, although not necessary its reminded me to declutter. So more books, clothes, pictures are on their way to new homes.

I tried that the other day and I couldn’t believe the pittance they were offering to be honest! I’d rather just charity shop them especially considering there’s so few I’m willing to let go of read or not :joy: or I do like a little window sill book freebie - love seeing who picks what up! I remember being sat in the dentist waiting room with my bf and someone had left a good old vintage copy of Forever by Judy Blume - 12 year old me was very happy!

Just a suggestion, that’s all. I get around 40p for a paperback I spent between £3-5.00 on. Cheaper than a magazine and money back LOL. It is also a use of time if your mind is wandering onto areas you don’t want it to; typing in all those numbers accurately is a form of meditation.
