I had the pre chemo session today, very informative. They flushed and redressed my PICC too. She said no grapefruit! Got the cancer research uk treatment record, Thankyou @greenqueen. She said the oncologist would speak to me before each cycle, but my next oncology appointment is 5th June . Anyone else been told this.
Had fun (not!) with my 18 year old son getting the shower cover on my arm earlier, chuffin tight, think my arms a bit wide!!! Then realised I needed to get my clothes off! He rapidly left me to it then.
I’m sorry you’ve had such a bad day, I really hope you can get a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling much better tomorrow.
Keeping track of all the medication is no mean feat. I’ve set up alarms on my phone!!
Morning ladies, @lizn1 hope you’ve had some sleep and get a better day. Keep hydrated if you can, horrible vicious circle when you can’t do what you know you need to do. Interested that people have had different information about food, I’ve not had any. However since my sense of taste seems to be deserting me, food has a horrible metallic taste and my mouth is a bit sore yoghurt has been my go to so I hope its not bad for me. Fortunately I asked for a mouthwash on Monday because my dentist had told me to, and that’s helping. Thank you everyone for combined wisdom. Hope your days go well.
I had my review yesterday and although my mouth isn’t sore, taste has gone, so she said she is prescribing mouthwash (pick up next thurs cycle 3) because it can help keep mouth healthy and help taste buds
@lizn1 how are you feeling this morning? Xx
@gerbera1 morning lovely… how are you feeling? I think it’s day 4 for you. Sending you big hugs.
I’ve done the same on my phone!
thank you @carrie5 I did have a nightmare with the cannula sadly. felt like knives and felt the chemo going through. really sore hand and arm today
thank you @gerbera1 I had a nightmare with the cannula, really unpleasant, felt like knives all the time in me, got worse with the second injection. felt it going in and throbbing and constant knives at cannula site. today my hand and arm are really sore, can not use or bump it without swearing like a pirate. I can not wait to stop chemo and get my stilton sauce with steak on the go. that’s my comfort food to look forward to after all this
yes i know @cruising that’s why its the one thing I’m looking forward to having when i finish.
Today is the first day I can taste anything, so hopefully you’ll be tasting things again soon x
@darkchild so sorry you had a bad time. Can only suggest you discuss at the start next time in case there’s anything they can alter/ improve/ take to relieve. @stafford22 I look forward to the possibility to taste again hearing you’ve improved a bit! I’ve just walked the dogs that has definitely helped.
I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Perhaps take 2 ibuprofen with the anti sickness tablet before the next session? Today’s another day. Take the meds and rest. I wish you a good day & am sending positive vibes.
Hi! Just resting and taking my meds methodically!! I can see how easy it is to Get carried away buying online.
Impressed with my recent purchase on Amazon as an addition/substitute to Polybarm. Even smells similar. I’m going to use polybarm sparingly concentrating on cuticles, massage in but then put the wax over the top as well. Time will tell of course…
Hair still in tact atm but head coverings arrive today.
I’m choosing to take 2 paracetamol before bed to keep any pains at bay to aid my sleep.
thank you @gerbera1, I will do.
Wishing you well and a pain free night of rest and sleep
