Despite the 1hr delay (they forgot we were in the waiting room) they found a vein near my wrist at the first attempt. My drugs den is once again fully stocked. 3 down 1 to go !
Whenās your next EC?
@sunshine I love you in the wig, doesnāt look obvious, happy birthday for whenever it is/ was. @greenqueen enjoy Pulp, @gerbera1 sounds like your session wasnāt too bad.
Thankyou was yesterday x
Ah many thanks re wig and birthday!
Next EC next Weds, no 3ā¦ā¦
Glad they found your vein!!!
@sunshine17 Iāve been awake since 3:10am! Surfing tāinternet again. This time for summer dresses (more suitable to my new physique!).
Took the opportunity to take another Laxido as Iām determined to get back to normal within 48hrs
Ahhh the sleep thing is rubbish. I used to sleep so well! Did you buy any/many! That nighttime checkout is lethal!
Ah Hope it works!!! X
@sunshine17 I was so tired last night I didnāt think I needed to take my usual drowsy tablet!
I treated myself to 2 new dresses. Iām hoping to get away later this year once this is all over. Something to look forward to.
I was given 2 boxes of Laxido (60 sachets). I hadnāt realised Iād had it so bad. OTT imho
Good morning⦠could I please ask if anyone moved from EC to Paclitaxel and felt better, as I read it might be a case?
I was prescribed 4 rounds of it every 2 weeks but at the last telephone review was asked if I want to go on a weekly cycle for longer period⦠As I was unprepared to the question and understanding my current response to EC, when I am the worst during the first week, suggested sticking to 2 weekly regime. Now, I read the efficacy is better as well as tolerance on a weekly but canāt get through to oncology team to get some reassurance etc.
Hi there I have done 3 ecs and now had my 2nd weekly paclitaxel. EC was def tougher but with the weekly ones theres no recovery time, so I constantly feel very tired. Iām due to have 12 weekly ones. But the dr did say on weekly that itās common to miss the odd week of chemo so the body can recover. Everyone is different though and you maybe fine x
Hi @stroud_morning Iām on 12x weekly Paclitaxel and managing really well. Iāve just done week 8. I get the impression that weekly is pretty manageable over 2 or 3 weekly, i think the ups and downs are a bit less. My worst SEs are dry mouth, no taste and a bit of tiredness usually worst around day 6. Some of my SEās could also be herceptin related.
@sunshine17 you look fabulous! So glad you got out and enjoyed yourself xx
Iām having my last ec today and will be on 2 weekly pax. From what i gather, its much tougher than weekly, also still have to do the 7 day injections which i dont think is needed with weekly. Also, desperately trying to keep what hair Iāve got but told with the higher dosage of pax as its every 2 weeks, i will end up losing it all. However at least dont have to go every week and will finish sooner.
Iām so glad youāre getting on ok with the weekly chemo. Iām finding the tiredness really hard but Iām on borderline of being anemic so this is adding to the fatigue. Iāve got 10 to go! Canāt wait to get to the finish line. My body def doesnāt like chemo!
Thank you ladies. I think chemo is cumulative at least for me, as it feels it takes longer to recover after my last and 4th EC. Also getting to understand the term āfighting cancerā better, as just keeping OK, take a lot of effort.
Keep thinking about work and having absolutely no energy or will power to log on and check emails or answering urgent questions etc. It frustrats and scares me, hoping that after finishing active treatment I will be back to normal.
@stroud_morning Iāve definitely found the third EC cycle harder to recover from than the previous 2. Even with the first, which caused all the vomiting, I was still feeling a lot better by this time in my cycle. Glad to have a break next week.
You look lovely in your wig @sunshine17.
I was going to wear mine last night and then it was warm and I felt brave so I went out for dinner with the hubster like this!
@hoggie Brave lady, and gorgeous look! Hope you had a good time. Good wishes to all of you who are struggling with the tiredness.
Thatās an incredible wig, you would never know!!
How did you get on with no 2? Iāve also got 10 to go I had to miss last week as had some weird skin reactions so a dose reduction and try again yesterday!
I am on the weekly paclitaxol and havenāt been given any injections to take home they said sometimes towards the end of the treatment ie 7 onwards they might be needed but hopefully will be able to manage without
