Are these side effects of generic exemestane?

I was switched from Femara/Zoladex to Aromasin/Zoladex in March this year which was initially a relief because I found it hard to tolerate Femara side effects and those from Aroamsin were less significant. Mostly small joint issues and mainly first thing in morning but which could be controlled with paracetamol/ibuprofen.

Not sure whether its just me looking for a reason or whether its just the build-up effect of the chemically induced reduction of oestogen in my system but am having a bit of a struggle of late an it SEEMS to coincide with Aromasin’s patent ending in July.

Since July, I have had generic exemestane prescribed from THREE different manufactures (Beacon, Teva and Accord). I understand the active ingredient (exemestane) is the same in each but the inactive ingredients are not. Could they be responsible for the massively increased hot flushes and the worsened small joint pain and stiffness (knees, elbows, hands, feet)? The latter has been so bad in my left leg base that I was sent for xrays to rule out pathological fracture (I have bone secondaries) and have been prescribed a stronger painkiller/anti inflammatory (Etopan)…

I long to ask to just go back to branded Aromasin and see what happens but know they are about twice the price of the generics? Anyone else got evidence that generics are messing about with side-effects???
