arimidex , alcohol and pains

Hi have been taking arimidex for a month now, joint pains are there, but have just had my first glass of wine at Christmas , having not had a drink since March whilst on treatment. I don’t know if I’m imagining it but the pains have been worse since that magical drink. Has any body else found the same ? Also any suggestions on what works to ease the stiffness would be wonderful

Wishing you all a brighter New Year

I find paracetamol is good for pain and I also recommend exercise. I do lots of yoga and go to the gym and use the bike and cross trainer and some weights. I have been on Arimidex since April and I have to say the pains are much less than when I started. I find the hot flushes are more of a problem and these are definitely aggravated by alcohol. A glass of wine is OK but anymore and I know it. But I do enjoy a glass of wine in the evening on occasions and find white is better than red. Hope the pains will ease and best wishes for the New Year.

Thanks for your reply, will certainly look at rejoining my yoga class in the new year
Best wishes

Hi

I agree. I have been on Arimidex for about 3 months. I find getting out of bed, a chair and the car very difficult for about 10 seconds and then the more I move about the better it gets. Once I have taken the dog for a walk across the fields, etc I’m fine. I now choose to drive because that makes it easier too. I haven’t found that having a drink affects it any way, but I do suffer from hot flushes at night and I’m going to make a note now to see whether they are worse if I drink. Happy new Year.
