ARTemis trial

Hi
So at 29 I have recently been diagnosed ( came as a complete shock as no family history at all) I am due to start chemo pre surgery in December (all things going to plan as am having some embryo’s frozen first) and just wondered if any ladies out there were on the ARTemis trial?
Any advise or help for getting through this’d would also be appreciated!
Xx

Hi supachick

There is a thread on the ARTemis trial which you may wish to join, there hasn’t been a post for a while but you can add to it to see if the users on there reply, you will find it here:

Hi Supachick, yup - I’m on ARTemis trial. I’ve had the chemo (FEC T plus Avastin), mx, implant, and have just finished radiotherapy. I had brill results with the chemo - it shrunk a very large tumour down to a tiny one, so obviously I would say go for it…but do take everything your onc says on board, because it’s not always an easy ride. However it is DOABLE (a very useful word) and hitting the darned BC with everything you can get your hands on feels good…
Is there anything in particular you wanted to know?
Ps best advice-
Do not google anything!!! Stick to recognised sites like this one.
Take it all one day at a time…sometimes one hour at a time.
It gets better, honest

Hi Ali
sorry I’m sure I’ve been hibernating ( or just hon denial) found out that I will have the avastin and fec-t so as you say lets hit the bugger with everything possible!!! Did the Acadtin give you any additional side effects that I should be aware of- or any handy hints?
i think a lot of it is trepidation about the unknown as I don’t know what to expect! So let’s see what tomorrow brings!!
