Associated shoulder pain with liver mets

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone else had associated shoulder pain with their liver mets at all? I have terrible pain in my shoulder the same as a few months ago when I had to have my gall bladder removed. I went to the hospital but they said it’s down to the liver mets. Has anyone else had this and did they manage to get rid of their liver mets so they weren’t in pain through chemo at all?

Hi Katherine2701

I’m sorry you haven’t nad any replies to your question as yet, but you might find it helpful and supportive if you try our Secondary Live Chat service which runs every Tuesday evening between 8.30 and 9.30pm.  The session is hosted by a nurse and a facilitator so there’s always someone to talk to in real time.  The regular users of Secondary Live Chat are a wonderful support to one another and have a wealth of knowledge and experience between them.  I have put you the link below for Live Chat.

I get shoulder pain - no liver mets but lung and bone. What do people take for the pain? I use ibuprofen just now.

Hi everyone, just a quick update, apparently the mets in my liver are large and numerous and the prognosis for me is weeks rather than months. They have said they will try me on Capecitabine if I am well enough next week to take it which will hopefully extend my life for a few months which I am of course desperately hoping for. Thanks for all your help. Feeling low at the moment but ever hopeful of a few more months!

With regard to pain relief I have oramorf to take at home which seems to be doing the trick. Hope that helps.

Katherine

Thank you all. It’s a lot to take in but I will go down trying my hardest to have quality time for my last weeks and months with my son and family. If I can do anything to get more weeks be assured I will do! Thank you again for your kind words. I can’t tell you how much it helps.

Katerine, I hope the new chemo kicks in quickly and gives you relief from pain and miracle results! I’m sorry you have been given this rotten dx. Hugs! Funnyface
