Yep you have to let go of perfection and let them help. Apart from anything else this cancer business also makes them feel awful and being useful helps with that x

Hello Titch, I have a 5 year old boy too aren’t they so inquisitive at this age! I was diagnosed at 39, he was 3 years old then. In some ways it was easier because we didn’t need to tell him he wouldn’t have understood. I had chemo when he was at nursery and I would be on the couch waiting for him when he got home. He spent that year of treatment climbing into bed with me, husband was in the spare room! Trust me now, you just adjust to each part of it. And this site has been a great support to me. Their someone like me scheme was very reassuring. It’s not long now to find out what you are dealing with xx (I’m now cancer free since September 2025) xx

Thank you so much for your reply it’s the uncertainty and the not knowing and trying to mentally plan. I said to my boss the other day if it was just myself and husband i don’t feel I would be worrying so much. Xxx

Yes definitely, and you are almost there now. So just do as you are doing with distractions and taking your boy out there’s so much going on over summer and what better distraction than them! Xx

Morning ladies just been for my biopsy the reason why they wanted another piece of my lymph node is to check it and mark it for surgery all indications are pointing to bad news Monday. Feel like I am in a dream and it’s not real at all

Hi @titch1 I’m so sorry you find yourself in this position. It is unbelievably scary. I have 2 teensge girls and those first weeks during the diagnosis was torture. All I kept thinking about was them. Whatever the outcome is for you when you get the results, I honestly believe things will get better. Knowledge is power and all the tests you are having right now are so your team know exactly what the best action is for your treatment. Because thats what breast cancer is now, it is treatable. Even the worst cases can be well managed.

Keep keeping yourself busy with your little boy. He needn’t know any of this and if you have to go through treatment he might not even remember it. You’ll have some extra lazy pj days but who doesnt like those. I had surgeries and chemotherapy and at times my 13 year old used to forget. We kept things as normal as possible. Life goes on even when it’s tough  your little boy will give you strength you didnt know you had!

Wishing you all the best. Big hugs

 Let’s see what they say Monday, it’s best they are being really thorough and checking absolutely everything. I think when I was in the waiting room full of other ladies I just sink into the seat and already accepted the situation. Wishing you lots of good vibes and do something nice this weekend xx

Worry about it if and when it happens. They insisted on biopsing and marking in my 30 year old fibroadenoma even though regular mammogram thought it so obviously a fibroadenoma no one flagged it. It proved to still be a fibroadenoma and is still there complete and tagged.

Hello I’m writing this from a different perspective it’s my other half waiting for her results. The radiologist told us to prepare for cancer, MRI and CT booked in next week. I feel like our world has stopped spinning and the fear is like a physical pain inside of me. I am absolutely terrified, the swollen lymph nodes make me so nervous that there is cancer throughout the entire body. The mass is 58mm which is big, my head is all over and I feel weak for struggling to process and digest when I’m not even the one in the position of having cancer. Trying to keep busy and normal but it’s so difficult. Controlling dark thoughts is what spirals me.

One day to go had an awful night last night in terms of nightmares ~ on the plus got my washing done on the line, cleaned the house again (didn’t need it!!) and took myself for a 3mile run whilst my little boy finally decided to sleep in his bed till 7am. Hopefully wipe myself out to get some sleep tonight. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has replied and messaged me these three weeks have felt very lonely as only a handful of people know not even my mum not to worry her. Your support has kept me going I will of course update you when I am able to. Take care every single one of you you are all warriors xxx

Good luck for tomorrow @titch1. I hope you get the best outcome possible but if it doesn’t go that way, just remember we’re all here. x

Hi sending hugs.

Breast Cancer comes in many shapes, types and sizes. It is also very treatable so don’t panic. Also don’t google too much as most of it will prove to be irrelevant.

Worrying about the health of a loved one isn’t weak and describing the waiting for results phase as the world stopping spinning is very accurate.

Once you have a results and a plan it gets easier as there’s things you can do x

Thank you, I’m trying so very hard to hold it together. We are left with enough information to allow our thoughts and the dark places we go dangerous. I can only imagine how she is feeling inside. We are keeping as busy as possible, walks, jigsaws, anything to distract the fear of what exactly we are up against. I find the forum and posts very comforting. I am sorry that for one reason or another we each find ourselves on here. Sending thanks and well wishes to each of you xx

To be fair to her team they’re not telling you as they don’t have all the information yet and it’s pointless going over ever eventuality.
