Hi ladies
Wanted to reach out for some support I am currently awaiting my biopsy results on the 3/8 following the triple assessment last Monday. It doesn’t look good after the cone bioposy the senior consultant came and spoke with me with the original one who saw my first and the. A McMillan nurse. The senior consultant booked me in for a CT scan last Thursday as she wants to be in a position to get things moving once all the results are in and to discuss at the Multi disciplin meeting. My hearts broken I have a 5 yr old boy who follows me around like a shadow of who has just listed a load of stuff he wants to do. Not sure how to cope with the wait

Hi @titch1
I really feel for you; the initial waiting for results, and then for a treatment plan if the results show cancer, is absolutely the worst part. Your GP may be able to offer some short-term help if you need it, or call the Breast Cancer Now helpline to talk to someone who will understand .
It really does get easier once you know where you are, and if relevant have a plan in place.
Wishing you the best for the 3rd and if you can, do let us know how you get on.

Thank you Lisa for taking the time to respond I appreciate it. I’ve planned to take my little boy away now this week to keep busy and my mind going off on one. Then will face next week when it comes xxx

Sending hugs.
The waiting for tests and a plan is the worst bit. There is treatment and breast cancer is very survivable especially when caught small and early.
Whilst waiting I suggest doing some of the things your son wants to do xx

The National Museum of Scotland has lots to explore for that age and is free. Dynamic Earth is also well worth a visit. Have fun x

I read further in your post that you’re going away with your little boy. This is absolutely the best thing to do as a wonderful distraction rather than sitting waiting and worrying, which is of course only natural and I’m sure all of us have done this and will tell you the waiting is the worst. Whatever the news once a treatment and care plan is in place it somehow feels better, I know that’s how I felt. Worry, anger, fear, “why me” these are all understandable responses. My thoughts are with you sending hugs x

I am in the same boat.. again.. January - June 2025 I went through 2 mammograms, ultrasound, biopsy.. not cancer..
Now going through it again.. but the appointments are happening faster this time.. and additional tests I didn’t have last time.. Had my usual mammogram.. was called for a same day ultrasound.. and on this coming Thursday I have a contrast mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy.. This is all within a month… where last time it was months. So now I am worried that they are seeing something more serious this time… see if they say anything on Thursday on what “it looks like”… but I’ll have to wait about 2 weeks till I know if the lump is cancer or not.

Hey lovely, as many other of us have said you are absolutely in the worst part at the moment. Waiting, delay, anxiety, worry, fear, sadness, anger, exhaustion, stress and many other emotions I can imagine, exacerbated by the semi diagnosis and not having a full picture and mapped plan.
But the medics are clearly on it all, ensuring they have a full picture and that they can provide the best treatment for you.
The variety of treatment is amazing. The identification of stages is so helpful. You WILL get through this. Just know that all your feelings are natural and, once you are fully diagnosed the stress does ease a little. Sending love and hugs to you and your little man x

Depending on what they want to check there’s still time for that to give you results. It’s better than getting told on the 3rd they need something else. One foot in front of the other, you’ll get there.

Thank you xxx spent the rest of the day catching up on housework husband was home alone so you can imagine that’s kept my mind busy. Got some stuff penciled in now for week 3 of my wait like you say one foot in front of another xxx

Ok time to train the husband. You’re going to need help for a few weeks. My husband can do all necessary tasks. The trip is to let them practice and ignore if it’s not to your satisfaction. An 80% result is better than you doing it during recovery. Never criticise or redo it when they’re around x
